À propos de cet audio

On the radar, the New York Yankees remain a focal point in MLB trade speculation, with fans anticipating a major move before the July 31, 2025 deadline. As the club weighs blockbuster trade opportunities, they recently completed a modest transaction with the Baltimore Orioles, sending catcher Alex Jackson in exchange for international bonus pool money and either cash or a player to be named later. Jackson, once a top prospect, had not appeared in a game for New York this season. It was a calculated move requiring little sacrifice from New York. Baltimore’s catching depth has been severely tested, with Adley Rutschman, Maverick Handley, Chadwick Tromp as well as Gary Sanchez all sidelined due to injuries. Jackson, originally drafted sixth overall by the Mariners in 2014, offers the Orioles a stopgap solution. Despite struggling at the plate in recent seasons just hitting just .122 in 2024 with the Rays. His experience across multiple teams makes him a viable short-term option. Meanwhile, the Yankees are reportedly eyeing a more impactful acquisition. Arizona Diamondbacks third baseman Eugenio Suarez has emerged as a potential target, drawing interest from both New York and Seattle. Suarez, known for his power hitting, has racked up 27 home runs and 70 RBI this season, making him one of the most talked-about names ahead of the deadline. However, the Diamondbacks remain undecided on whether to sell, as they hover around the .500 mark. With the Orioles sitting at the bottom of the AL East and the Yankees struggling through a 3-7 stretch, both teams face pivotal decisions. For New York, the next few weeks could determine whether they settle for minor tweaks or pursue a blockbuster deal to reignite their postseason hopes.
