Welcome to the inaugural episode of Two Tabs Open , where my sister Jaz and I, Liss, dive into the fascinating world of generational differences and shared experiences. As sisters at opposite ends of early adulthood—me being a 24-year-old Gen Z-er and Jazz a 31-year-old millennial—we explore the nuances of our respective generations, from pop culture to personal anecdotes.

In this episode, we kick things off by introducing ourselves and sharing our unique perspectives on growing up in different eras. I discuss my experiences as a Gen Z-er, feeling somewhat caught between two generations, while Jaz reminisces about her millennial upbringing filled with Bebo, MSN, and iconic TV shows like The OC. We touch on the cultural crossover that occurs when younger siblings absorb the media and trends of their older siblings, leading to some interesting generational debates.

We then delve into the assumptions that millennials have about Gen Z, starting with the idea that we don't go out as much. Jaz and I discuss how social media influences our social lives and the perception of partying, revealing that while there may be some truth to this assumption, it varies widely among individuals. We also tackle the notion that Gen Z spends excessive time on their phones, exploring the complexities of our relationship with technology.

As we continue, we challenge the stereotype that Gen Z is less career-focused than millennials, highlighting how our generation prioritizes work-life balance in a challenging job market. We also address the perception that millennials are uncool, sharing our mutual insecurities and the humorous ways we navigate these feelings.

To add a fun twist, we engage in a game where we share generational slang and terminology, testing each other's knowledge of terms like "simp," "riz," and "on fleek." This light-hearted segment showcases the evolving language between our generations and the amusing misunderstandings that can arise.

Finally, we wrap up the episode with our weekly "ins and outs," where we share what we're currently loving and what we're ready to leave behind. From my newfound appreciation for seltzer drinks to Jaz's struggle with saying yes to plans, we reflect on the importance of balance in our busy lives.

Join us next week as we continue our journey through childhood obsessions, sisterly arguments, and our first nights out. Thank you for tuning in to our first episode of Two Tabs Open —we're excited to have you along for the ride!
