À propos de cet audio
Planet Of Sound: In Conversation featuring special guest Mark Davyd, CEO of the Music Venue Trust. Live music is a vital part of our culture. It is an ecosystem under threat. Many venues have disappeared since the likes of Suede, Oasis, Nirvana and NIN did their first UK tours. We discuss the UK’s grassroots music venue ecosystem, vital for new generations of artists, and where your favourite bands and acts emerged from. We cover the threats and challenges such venues face and hope for emerging opportunities. Mark offers advice to venues and artists.
Planet Of Sound: In Conversation originates from the Planet Of Sound radio show, and features a special guest each episode; topics include music, culture, literature and the arts with guest artists, musicians, writers, producers and creatives of multiple disciplines across assorted themes. Guests include David M Allen who has produced more albums by The Cure than anyone else, including landmark album Disintegration. Music artists Annika Henderson AKA Anika and Penelope Trappes, award winning author Clare Whitfield, debut novelist Ania Card and Mark Davyd, CEO of the UK's Music Venue Trust on a mission to protect grassroots venues, the breeding ground of your favourite bands of all time and tomorrow's big acts.
Planet Of Sound was originally the name of a music ‘zine Duncan ran and where his journey began, now returning in audio form. Planet Of Sound re-emerged in 2025 as a two hour music and culture radio show featuring a guest in conversation, Planet of Sound: In Conversation is now a podcast focussed solely on the chat, featuring a unique special guest each episode.
Presented and brought to you by Duncan Robert, writer, producer, musician, creative and former A&R at major and indie record labels including EMI Records. He's previously performed as Architects Of Grace.
