 The Red Sox (78-64) opened up their 6-game road trip with a 10-5 loss to the Arizona Diamondbacks at Chase Field in Phoenix, Arizona. The loss snapped the Red Sox season-high 4-game road winning streak. The Red Sox fall to 4.5 games behind the Blue Jays for 1st-place in the AL East. The Blue Jays took the opener from the Yankees in the Bronx Friday night, and the Red Sox remain a half game behind the Yankees for the top AL Wild Card spot. -----Sox at the Dish: The Red Sox managed only 1 run over the 1st 7 Innings and managed to get to within a run with 4 runs across in the 8th against the Arizona bullpen. Alex Bregman knocked in a pair with a 2-run Double. Romy Gonzalez delivered an RBI with a sacrifice fly. Rob Refsnyder drew the Red Sox to within a run with an RBI Double. Nathaniel Lowe knocked in Boston's first run of the game with an RBI Triple in the 2nd Inning against former Red Sox hurler Eduardo Rodriguez. Gonzalez went 2-for-3 with 2 Singles, and he's now hit safely in 8 straight games. Gonzalez has multi-hit games in 6 of his last 7. -----Slaten Slammed: Justin Slaten entered for the Bottom of the 8th and ended up giving up 4 runs all with 2 outs in the Inning. Geraldo Perdomo provided a cushion with a 2-out RBI Single and Corbin Carroll hit a 3-run Home Run.
