In this episode, part two of near miss dashboards, I speak with Family for Safe Streets Northern Virginia Executive Director Mike Doyle about their really extensive mapping and data collection tool.
Not only can you see and input near misses–you know, when say a car almost sideswipes–which is just one instance, you can see data for the busiest days of the week, the hours that have the most near misses and more.
We talk about how he started the chapter in NOVA and how the data they collect helps make the streets safer for everyone–not just cyclists, but pedestrians and even drivers.
