Publisher's Summary

On the outside, Dina Demille is the epitome of normal. She runs a quaint Victorian Bed and Breakfast in a small Texas town, owns a Shih Tzu named Beast, and is a perfect neighbor, whose biggest problem should be what to serve her guests for breakfast.

But Dina is...different: Her broom is a deadly weapon; her Inn is magic and thinks for itself. Meant to be a lodging for otherworldly visitors, the only permanent guest is a retired Galactic aristocrat who can’t leave the grounds because she’s responsible for the deaths of millions and someone might shoot her on sight. Under the circumstances, ""normal"" is a bit of a stretch for Dina. And now, something with wicked claws and deepwater teeth has begun to hunt at night....

Feeling responsible for her neighbors, Dina decides to get involved. Before long, she has to juggle dealing with the annoyingly attractive, ex-military, new neighbor, Sean Evans—an alpha-strain werewolf—and the equally arresting cosmic vampire soldier, Arland, while trying to keep her inn and its guests safe. But the enemy she’s facing is unlike anything she’s ever encountered before. It’s smart, vicious, and lethal, and putting herself between this creature and her neighbors might just cost her everything.

Fun listen!

Although the story wasn’t super in-depth, I liked it. It had a lot of similar troups than other similar books and had felt a bit predictable at times, but it was a fun read. The acting was excellent. I really loved the characters and though in my own personal life I don’t like arrogant men and sarcasm, I absolutely love it in this book. I was smiling or laughing out loud . I also also able to catch my husband up on the story quickly and he enjoyed listening to the last 45 minutes on a long drive we had. I am excited to listen to the next book,

good entertainment value

I have (and have listened to) the 5 books in the series with great enjoyment and delight. I liked them enough to buy an updated version with multiple narrators and sound effect. It was fun and if I had not listened to the original recording it would have been great. My main complaint was the "distant sounding" comments and conversation that were lost to the story. Overall it was fun but felt slightly incomplete.

Loved it!

I would definitely still buy the original as it has some missing parts, but all together a wonderful adaptation of an excellent story!

I may be biased

This is one of my favorite series to read. I haven't listened to the original audio recording but this one does a great job of bringing the story to life. all the little added sound effects are fantastic and all the voice actors are wonderfully cast. I came into this loving the story and author so I may be biased in being easy to impress. it doesn't have the same reader as the original so if you're expecting any of the characters to sound the same then you will be disappointed. If you come into it open minded, you will love the slow southern drawl.

Well Acted and Entertaining!

I love this audio dramatization, it really brings the comedy, drama and fantasy/sci fi elements of this story to life! It had me laughing at loud at points.

I look forward to the rest of this series being adapted.

Really enjoyed this format!

I’m pretty new to audiobooks and really enjoyed this production of one of my favourite authors! I’ve read the book and heard the standard Audi and this was just great fun to hear the voices of the characters live!
Some of the background sounds were a bit disconcerting but for the most part it was very well done!
Great fun!

Loved the entire series!!

Up until about 3 months ago, I’d never heard of this kick-a$$ hubs-wife writing duo, but I was hooked on the Innkeeper Chronicles after one chapter. AND, every book was great—good plots, hilarious, and highly entertaining.
And now I’m hooked on their Kate Daniels series!
Highly recommend!

Awesome!!

I have now read this story many times however, listening to it in the graphic audio production was a new experience to this story. Itad me laughing out loud at so many moments and juat made the story even more fun. I have listened to the original audiobook by Renee Raudman (not sure how to spell her last name) and that was extremely well done as well. So this just enhanced everything even more. seriously loved it and it was frickin awesome.

No one wants to hear the sounds of eating

Seriously. Stop it. This is a mistake new audiodrama creators make and shouldn't be in a professionally produced audiobook.
Slurping and the "ah" is just grating (no one makes that sound after every sip).
The VAs are wonderful and I love Ilona Andrews, but the sound tech is making rookie mistakes (unless someone higher up wanted them included, in which case they need to learn otherwise).
