The Romans invaded Britannia in AD 43 confident of victory. They swept through a divided and ill-equipped enemy, scattered across tough terrain. But one man was not prepared to surrender. Caratacus - quick-witted youngest son of a a tribal king - had been trained from birth to be a warrior of power and grit. Sent to be schooled by the Druids in his boyhood, his training meant that an already strong and cunning prince returned to his father's kingdom as a war machine.

Changed narrator !!!!!!
The change in narrator changes the pace, flow, names, and even the characters them selves! So disappointed with the change! Second narrator does not live up to Robert Glenister !

Conn Iggulden does not disappoint!
I previously read Conn Iggulden's War of the Roses series and he quickly became one of my favourite authors. He has continued to amaze me with the Emperor series too! His attention to detail and fabulous story telling is wonderful and the narration is superb. My daily highlight is looking forward to hearing the story of Julius Caesar as I go for hikes and are out and about or at home. #Audible1

Reader can’t pronounce the names right
The story is good and interesting but the reader is unable to pronounce any of the names properly, and it removes you from the story every time and make you wonder why they would have some one who can’t pronounce the names narrate it

Narrator Sucks
Like everyone else has to say, the narrator makes this book almost unlistenable. Maybe get someone who can pronounce the letter V properly next time

Why change name pronunciations in the third book of the series?
Who makes the decision to change the pronunciation of the character's names in the third book of the series.I thought that a bunch of new characters were being introduced to the story, only to realize that the reader was pronouncing V's as W's. Really irritating and contrived! Why not keep the pronunciations as they were in the first two books???

Amazing story, horrible narrator
I have read this series a couple times and wanted to listen while I drive to work but I’m having a very hard time listening to the Narrator pronounce Servilia is as sirwaleya and Octavian as Achtawiahn the sound quality is sub par too I will make sure to avoid Paul Blake narrations in the future.

Another fantastic book. Starts slow.
It took me 3 attempts to get through the beginning of this book, after loving the first two in the series.
The combination of the narrator change and slow romance intro was disappointing. But once you get through it, a few hours in, the story picks right back up!!
