Histoire
When single mother Darcy’s son falls from a rope bridge at a local playground, life stands still. She clutches his small, limp body, frozen, until a pair of strong hands push her aside, and she watches as George, a local doctor, saves her son’s life. George, with his twinkling hazel eyes, easy charm and lack of wedding band is almost too good to be true, but coffee becomes lunch, lunch becomes dinner, and soon they can’t go an evening without seeing each other.

Description
This morning, my daughter sat right here, munching her breakfast, too excited to finish it. Now, she is missing.
The day after her ninth birthday, Lucie and Blake Sullivan agree, for the very first time, to let their daughter, Grace, make the four-minute walk back home alone from a friend’s house just down the street.
They joke with friends about hiding behind bushes to ensure she is safe. But the joke turns sour when Grace does not appear.
Despite the best efforts of the police and local community, Grace seems to have vanished into thin air. With hope fading fast, Lucie knows she can rely on her husband to support her through such dark times. That is until the day she makes a shocking discovery, hidden in Blake’s desk, and suddenly she begins to doubt everything she knew about the man she married.
But Lucie harbours a terrible secret of her own. One that she has never shared with anyone, even Blake....
And as the search for Grace reaches fever pitch, Lucie receives a terrifying message. If she is ever to see Grace again, Lucie has no choice but to face the past she tried hard to bury forever. And she must do it alone.
The most gripping psychological thriller you’ll listen to this year from the best-selling author K.L. Slater. If you love The Wife Between Us or Gone Girl, you’ll be totally hooked on Finding Grace.

Great story!
I really enjoyed the story! I had just had to keep listening to find out what happened in the end. I did guess one of the twists but most of them were a mystery right up until they were revealed. The narrator was quite good, a few of the female voices sounded a bit similar but I certainly enjoyed the narration all the same.

Couldn’t stop listening
My first novel by K.L Slater and it definitely will not be my last. I found the book difficult to stop listening to and “binge listened” over the last four days. In the car, in bed, doing housework. Whenever wherever. I found myself thinking I knew what was going on only to be very surprised! It maybe felt a little rushed at the very end when things finally start unravelling, I could have done with a few more chapters for the climax to be as thorough as the rest of the novel.
I also enjoyed Lucy Price-Lewis’ performance very much. She has such a soothing, easy to listen to voice. Listen to this book!!

Don't waste your money or credit
This was pretty much the worst novel I have read in quite a while. Besides the fact that the protagonist was stupid and unbelievable, there were so many plot holes that the story was irritating. The writing was clichéd and repetitive. I could hardly wait for this one to end. It also convinced me that I will not ever consider another "Audible Exclusive".

Sadly predictable, making you hate the protagonist.
The initial set up and mystery following Grace’ disappearance is intriguing but as the author breaks into the protagonists past the “twists” become very predictable. I uttered to myself “how” and “whhhhhy” to many of the ridiculous mistakes the main character makes. Overall I found it disappointing. The reader does a lovely job how ever so I soldiered on to the finale.

A Quick Read But Relateable
I don't think this book will stand out in my mind when comparing it to others that still hold my attention, however it still kept me engaged and I tried to piece things together throughout the book, questioning the motives of characters. It put me in the shoes of a possible situation that no one wishes to go through, which was interesting.

I give up
OK, I am getting annoyed now, with the way this book was described, it sounded excellent. However, reading it I am getting really frustrated. Also this just adds to my long list of recent books that have characters in it that I think are weak, and just basically stupid. I wish that we had more authors write books about strong, independent, smart women. I’m not talking about making mistakes in our lives, I’m talking about how we learn and grow, and stand up for what we believe in, and as I teach my own daughter, paying the consequences for their own behavior. Anyway, let’s hope my next read is better. Are usually love this author, but this book is dreadful.

Can anyone actually be so GULLIBLE?
This was difficult for me to finish. The foolish Lucy is hard to swallow. She's difficult to relate to because she is so profoundly unbelievable., as are the rest of the one dimensional characters in the book. The narration was better than the story, but just barely. She sounded screechy and squeaky when delivering female lines, and flat and stuffy when speaking as a male. Save your time and money on this one, and pass it by.

Frustrating Read!
This book was awful. Every single conflict arose from either complete stupidity on the part of the main character or something completely unrealistic happening. I have been a victim of some of the same circumstances the main character was a victim to and I have two children the same age range and gender as hers, and I still could not relate to her at all. At every opportunity, she was the dumb girl in the horror movie that walks into the basement. One call to the police at any point in her story could have stopped everything.
I gave it two stars overall simply because the narrator was fine.

Finding Grace, tediously
The story was actually good. I felt it was tedious because at least the first half had not so much story with people doing things, but the majority of the time with Lucinda going on and on about how she felt, her suspicions, and her overall mental state. Once we got past that, and into more of the ‘16 years ago’ alternating chapters the story moved much faster, and had much more meat to keep your attention. The ending was almost too fast in contrast to the slower portions. But it was a very good job of tying up the loose ends.

I normally enjoy K.L. Slater.. but..
I normally enjoy most books by Slater but this one wasn't great. The premise is good, but the characters are not likable. I wanted to slap the mom who was missing her child, and the father wasn't much better. I felt it dragged and became uninteresting, which is a shame.
I would likely buy this on discount, but I wouldn't waste a credit on it.

Disappointing.
Shallow, unlikeable characters, an implausible plot and a poor narrative.
There are many good books and good authors in this genre where the characters fill the pages and the story grips until the end, but this is not one of them.
Out of respect for the author and a commitment to myself to finishing every book I purchase, I hung in until the end although I found I eventually had to increase the narrative speed so as not to prolong the agony.
If it’s quality and fine writing you want try Peter Grainger’s delightful Inspector DC Smith series, or any of Adrian McGinty’s excellent novels. I don’t think you’ll find it here.

Boring Until The Last Hour
No Spoilers! Not enough suspense and I found the main character to be a bore. There were some twists at the end but I could see them coming early on. The main character was quite dim and I found her annoying. The only excellent part was the narrator.
