Description

What is there to celebrate when you turn 32? You're still desperately single and thousands of miles away from home.

As Ashley contemplates her life as a lesbian stuck in the middle of the Syrian oil fields surrounded by more men than there is sand, a blast from the past brings with it the opportunity to rekindle old flames.

But what of the local chef Iman? As she awakens to her sexuality, in a country where such love is forbidden, will her heart's yearning be satisfied or forever denied?

Dive into Forbidden, the latest lesbian romance, set in exotic pre-war Syria, from Emma Nichols, author of the best-selling The Vincenti Series: Finding You, Remember Us, and The Hangover.

This one is a good read

Emma Nichols does a great job showing readers the emotions of her characters, and this continues that trend. However, the plot seemed kind of flat. The love interest that was seemingly one one sided at the beginning of the book all of a sudden was requited and the romance story that we thought was going to happen didn't. The ending was rather abrupt and left questions unanswered. Not one of Emma Nichols's best works, but still a decent listen. Jessica Jeffries did a good job with the narration, although her American South accent fell flat.

Love in a War Zone

I have yet to find a book of Emma's that i havent liked. this one is no different. the story of love in an area where you can die for being gay was for sure a different point of view that i havent read a lot. i was confused towards the beginning because the 2 people i thought were supposed to be together werent getting together but obviously it all played out in the end.

What is it?

There is just something about Jessica Jeffries. The way she portrays her characters is so different. Her voice is very demure and she is able to convey everything going on with little emotion. I don't know what it is a out her style but I like it. Get the book.
