What made the experience of listening to The Raider the most enjoyable?
How can you not love a story of a strong alpha male who is won over by the sister of his enemy? He is brought back to a life of love by her. He no longer sees her as "English" but rather as the woman he can't live without
Have you listened to any of Antony Ferguson’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
I love his accent. He does the accent for the men so well!!! Many authors can't do a nice Scottish accent
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I laughed and cried in parts. This makes it one of the best books written

What made the experience of listening to The Raider the most enjoyable?
I've been tearing through this series, and I really think The Raider has been one of my favorites. The plot is different than many of the others, and it focuses on a different area.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Robby Boyd is very compelling, a historical figure imbued with fictional (albeit enjoyable) endowments that make him a great romantic hero.
Have you listened to any of Antony Ferguson’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
I have listened to all of the Highland Guard series. I have to admit, I miss Robert McNab a bit, as some of the Gaelic words are pronounced differently, and that is a bit jarring. I am adjusting though, and Antony gives a good performance.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
The strongest man in Scotland had one weakness- her.
Any additional comments?
This series sneaks up on you. I am coming from Outlander, not just romance novels, so I like the history stuff. I am really enjoying the series and dread finishing it soon.

I love the way the author lets you hear the heroes thoughts and the heroines thoughts during the scenes. The story was well done and the historical setting was fascinating to me. I loved the way that the good and the bad side of the hero was portrayed. You almost lose hope for him but in the end love wins. The romance was beautiful and the sex scenes were well written and passionate.

My biggest complaint with all of these books is that I wish there was more story of the couples life together. I guess I am spoiled by the Outlander series. I just want to experience more of the goodness after the struggle they endured to forge their union.

Monica McCarty’s telling of the history behind the story adds greatly. I love the facts about the people involved in the building of Scotland.
What did you love best about The Raider?
That love found a way for the Hero and Heroine despite some very bad odds.
What other book might you compare The Raider to and why?
The first 7 books in this series are very similar as the stories are connected. I enjoyed all 8 books in this series.
What does Antony Ferguson bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
I love hearing the accent. It makes the story seems more realistic as it is set in Scotland/England area.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
Despite unsurmountable odds, loves finds a way!
Any additional comments?
I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this book. It is very well written although there is a bit too much history regarding the battles for me but I understand that is the way this author is doing this series.
I really enjoyed the first three. Now they all seem the same. Repeats throughout.
I love reading or listening to a book when the author mixes true historical facts and their own works together, creating an epic journey into the past. This author wrote an outstanding and truly romantic story, filled with passion and a tall, wild Scotsman. I loved this story of Robby Boyd. I definitely have become attached to this author's style and look forward to enjoying many more books by her. A must read!!!
