Description
For Sean Wright, driving a cab in the tiny Navy town of Anchor Point isn't an exciting job...until he picks up just-dumped Paul Richards. A drive turns into a walk on the pier, which turns into the hottest hookup Sean's had in ages.
After a long overdue breakup, Paul can't believe his luck. Of all the drivers, he's picked up by the gorgeous, gay, and very willing Sean. Younger guys aren't usually his thing, but Paul can't resist.
One taste and neither man can get enough...right up until they realize that Paul is Sean's father's commanding officer and the last man Sean should be involved with.
With two careers on the line, their only option is to back off. It's not easy, though; the sex and the emotional connection are exactly what both men have been craving for a long time. But Paul has devoted 24 years to his career and his dream of making admiral. If he's caught with Sean, that's all over. He has to choose - stay the course, or trade it all for the man who drove off with his heart.

Almost there but not quite
The characters and plot definitely had potential but there was definitely something left to be desired. As I listen I keep waiting for the narration to elaborate on what and why they feel like they belong together but there is no heart felt moments that bond the two main characters. Everything seems to revolve around them having sex, I love the sex scenes and they are very well written and not at all repetitive or predictable, but I feel like that's the only way they connect. I feel like I don't really know what interests the characters have outside of their desire for the other man, Paul is in the military, with something to do with being an ex pilot and being the boss of everyone on base and Shaun is in school and lives at home, that's all I've learned about each character outside of how they love to be in physical contact with the other man. I'm only half way through the book and I keep listening to it waiting for all this to change but even the so called 'impending doom' their relationship causes doesn't even feel that real. Each time they say 'we shouldn't' I just think 'meh, so what it's not like you've been anywhere close to being caught and no one is suspicious.' It also kind of feels like Paul's friend Travis is there as an easy out for the author to get Paul to work through some inner turmoil, just to keep the plot moving forward. If I stopped listening I wouldn't feel like I'm missing out on anything, I could definitely put down this book and never pick it up again, so to speak.
