--RinoZ digs deep on the magic system and does so in short, tight descriptions that don't drag.

--The pacing is expert.

--The writing is clear and unobtrusive, with the occasional structure that impressed me.

--In the next book, Tyron's character arc should ressume greater progress. (Granted, the pacing of Tyron's arc through this book is fitting, according to the stalemate he was in; this is not unlike the slow crawl of a roller coaster before a steep drop.)

--The plot is thrilling, but it feels like half a book.

Good Story

The characters and world building are as solid as the first 2 however it lacks major events and exciting plot development. Its basicly a level grind, slow life research book instead of the necro adventure fantasy the first 2 were. Almost no fights and very little progress in the main plot. The pacing is drawn out and borderline boring. My investment in the plot from the first 2 books held my attention but if the lack of excitement holds up thru the next book ill likely drop the series.
