À propos de cet audio
On a top-secret dive into the Pacific Ocean's deepest canyon, Jonas Taylor found himself face-to-face with the largest and most ferocious predator in the history of the animal kingdom. The sole survivor of the mission, Taylor is haunted by what he's sure he saw but still can't prove exists-Carcharodon megalodon, the massive mother of the great white shark. The average prehistoric Meg weighs in at twenty tons and could tear apart a Tyrannosaurus rex in seconds.
Written off as a crackpot suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder, Taylor refuses to forget the depths that nearly cost him his life.
With a PhD in paleontology under his belt, Taylor spends years theorizing, lecturing, and writing about the possibility that Meg still feeds at the deepest levels of the sea. But it takes an old friend in need to get him to return to the water, and a hotshot female submarine pilot to dare him back into a high-tech miniature sub.
Diving deeper than he ever has before, Taylor will face terror like he's never imagined, and what he finds could turn the tides bloody red until the end of time.

Whoooeee. Don’t expect anything real revelatory here, this Moby Dick 2.0 barely passes the Bechdel test, but it’ll make you laugh at human stupidity and talk out loud while you’re listening. Go for it!

Fortunately, if you can manage to accept the book as offered, it's a notably stoopid rollercoaster-ride distraction.. but one that's actually quite popcorn-popping enjoyable.
Book Two ('Origins') is a prequel exploring the first encounter between deep-sea submarine pilot 'Jonas Taylor' and the beast - leading to disaster and Taylor's obsessive hunt to prove his experience true. The book is annoyingly unnecessary - Alten does a good job summarizing the events in 'A Novel Of Deep Terror' - but does a nice job elaborating on characters we meet in the first 'Meg' novel. I didn't hate it, but didn't particularly enjoy it.
To be sure, Sean Runnette's distinctly "average" narration doesn't help the situation, either. Don't get me wrong, his narration is solidly creditable (crisp diction, commendable timbre/cadence, professional voice-acting, and interested tone).. but nothing that anyone else in Tantor Audio Inc's stable of readers couldn't have delivered.
Altogether, I give 'Meg: A Novel Of Deep Terror with Meg: Origins' a serviceable 6.5 stars out of 10. This fare is straight-up Brain Candy (junk food for your mind) - certain to reduce your IQ a couple of points if you make this kind of stuff your go-to reading habit.. but they're entertaining if you occasionally enjoy Hollywood blockbuster fluff like 'Armageddon' & 'The Day After Tomorrow'.
I suggest you save your Credit for something else when it leaves the 'Plus' menu, but you wouldn't be crazy to spend it here.
[Note: That could very well be the stupidest climactic battle/ending that I have ever read]
Fun Romp
