Excellent story

Another excellent story, by Marcus Sloss, but again the ending felt very rushed. Absolutely wonderful reading by Daniel and Rebecca.

This was actually good.

This book was actually good. I have too say the first book was the worst than the second and the last book was the best.

Book 1. let me say this, in all of these books I feel like it was way too melodramatic and honestly I feel like Marcus could've done better in this series. Daniel was good in all the books, Rebecca did really good also. I wanted there to be more action in this book, the backstory in this book was long but you always need a backstory. After that it just got boring and I wanted to skip chapters sometimes. Other than that The 1st book was alright. it really smoothed out in the 2nd book and I feel like Marcus did way better.

Book 2. This book has basically all my complaints from book 1, except the action. this book had way more fighting than book 1. Like I said this book was way better than book 1. The character progression and world building also got way better and I really liked this one, I didn't feel like I had too skip chapters of go get some coffee and leave the book on while I did that.

Book 3. NOW this one was really good.the character progression, the world building, the fighting. Everything in this book was good, I hated how dramatic it was tho. I don't know if it's just Daniel or if Marcus loves making his books like this. The abilities he got in the book were awesome and the ending wasn't bad at all.

Pros. The fighting in this book was detailed and I really like it. The characters were unique like they had a mind of there own, Every single girl added to the story was also good. The characters progression in this series was really good. I feel like from book 1 too 3 Dean really progressed as a person and really became a better man. Dean was also relatable, some of the stuff he said or the choices he made I would've made too. Dean also had a backbone, he didn't let people walk over him or anything like that. The abilities he got and how he improved was good, I liked his electric abilities and this book kind of reminds me of climbing the dragon tower. Not just the narrator but how it was wrote, that's one of the reasons I kept this book. The harem elements could've been better.

Cons. It was way too melodramatic and sometimes it was overdramctic. The premise of this book didn't really push me. I felt like all the technology and how he wasn't even on earth, and the gates with everything else it wasn't with me. out of the all the ratings. story had to be the worst, but even with the story. I feel like it was performed really well and when I changed my reading perspective and really listened I liked this book alot. There are a couple trivial things I didn't like, But most of it is between the books.

Conclusion.
This book was a good complete series, you shouldn't listen to this book if you don't like harems, if you do this book is for you. if you like alot of fighting, dramatic moments, good narrators, Awesome character, unique abilities well this book is for you.

Edit. I want too also add Dean is super cool. Like super cool. if you listen to this book you will be talking about this book on reddit and Twitter and alot of other platforms. I also feel like this was one of Marcus best books. I don't really like harems but this book was good. The diverse fighting scenes with the maze was good too. I feel like the fighting was one of the best things of this book. And it's safe too say this is a good fantasy litrpg adventure.

Stop talking with food in your mouth

Stop talking with food in your mouth It does not increase immersion it is just plain disgusting for someone to talk with food in their mouth. Why the weird mix of voice accents? Imposible odds already then just stupid how did a vampire overwriting a god's power over the portals. Story just turns to nonsense at the end.

Overall great listen

I really did enjoy this book overall. It really worked on world building in multiple settings. I was a bit disappointed in the ending since it felt so rushed. Multiple plots seemed to disappear or end in one sentence. Felt like it could have easily been one more book.

the ending sucked

When the first half hour of this R-rated lit-rpg wish-
bc Ifulfillment schlock turned out to be about in depth sci-fi fishing... well it intrigued me.
The sex scenes somehow managed to be tasteful (by my standards lmao), & even most of the gamey exposition was entertaining.
The ending seemed a bit rushed, & there were several plot issues that didn't feel good... but I think the collection is worth the token it cost me.

Glad I Got The Series For A Token

This book was hard to start. Finally when it started to build up there were so many parts that didn't make sense. And then ultimately the ending was so lack luster it made me want to throw my damn headphones. Where's the meme of the guy ripping his headphones off?!

A surprisingly mature and enjoyable read

I was given this book in exchange for an honest review which you can find below.

First impressions:
Right off the bat, this story impressed me with how little handholding there was. It was action between mystery characters who we see again later and appreciate more for the details we've gotten along the way. Many authors would drag you from paragraph to paragraph, pointing out the important bits but the best will set you loose and let you fill in the details over time. Right as I was getting settled in for a grand adventure I was surprised again at how mature society and relationships were. Society is ok with same sex marriages, birth control is high tech and widely available, and best of all, everything is handled so casually that you don't feel like you're reading a liberal agenda and are instead living in an ideal future. When your average book in the genre is typical male powergamer fantasy, this felt amazing to read. I'd recommend people read this series for the opening few chapters alone just to see how a great start to a book can go.

The Story:
It took me a while to really get the story as the beginning throws you in the deep end and leaves you to figure it out. This is great and I really enjoyed the process for almost the entirety of the first book. Unfortunately the story starts to lose headway into the second and third books. It's not bad by any means but felt like a bit of a downer after that amazing opener. A sudden power spike near the end of the second book was particularly jarring, and the ending of the third felt very rushed. The series felt like it should have been a few books longer but the author cut it at the third book and made as good of an ending as he could with all the threads he had on hand. One particular moment still annoys me and I'll stay as spoiler free as possible while I mention it. The main character asks a certain all powerful being about some important detail revolving around the number 8 since he was only up to around 6 at the time. The all powerful being brushes it aside with something along the lines of everyone gets the details wrong, just be happy with what you have. It felt like there was more story there waiting but was chopped off at the last minute to sew up all those loose ends. This element is probably the weakest of the three books.

Lit RPG systems:
The systems in the game seem well thought out and explained though I didn't go through them with a fine toothed comb by any means. I just used them as a general guide for the world and character's power levels in comparison to one another. I think this is what the author intended since things like stats are only mentioned rarely so you don't see growth in that aspect, and the conflict in the world is so abstract with such little detail that you don't really see the impact the characters are having. Anyone who wants to really see some numbers crunched probably won't be happy with the author's style in this regard but if you take it as a bit of video game flavoring then you'll be much happier.

Characters:
Similar to the plot, the characters start well but get weaker in the second book. In book 1, everyone is important and you know details and motive for them all. In book 3 the roster has grown to the point that new characters aren't fleshed out enough for you to genuinely care about them. There was even one love interest character we hadn't heard anything important about in several chapters and I still can't remember who she even was to this day. It isn't all bad though. The narrators do a great job differentiating between people and giving them unique voices, and the author does a good job of promoting characters and relationships outside of the inevitable harem that pops up.

In the end this was a good series with a great start and a weak ending. I do not regret listening to it and think it's a great deal for a single credit. I would recommend this to any fans of the genre and am currently checking out the author's other available works to see if any are as good as this one.

really great story

This is another great book from Marcus Sloss. Adventurer fisherman keeps on having the venture of his lifetime. The story just keeps on getting better and better. The performance was well done, had no problem following the story with the performers
