What a journey this story takes you on. An emotional and raw look at the reality of life for many indigenous women in Canada. The story is a roller coaster ride of emotions: anger, sadness, frustration and then excitement and joy as you take the journey with her. From the start of the book you embrace and want to protect Brandi. Every chapter was like a story unto itself.

Brandi’s vulnerable memoir is beautiful and polished from a technical perspective but raw and vivid from an emotional standpoint. This is a story people need to hear, not just to understand her journey, but to understand our journey towards Reconciliation. This is beautiful, important work.
