À propos de cet audio
The phenomenal fifth book in the Hunger Games series!
Acclaimed actor Jefferson White, who starred in Paramount Network's Yellowstone as Jimmy Hurdstrom, brings his talent to the worldwide best-selling Hunger Games series as narrator of the Sunrise on the Reaping audiobook!
When you've been set up
to lose everything you love,
what is there left to fight for?
As the day dawns on the fiftieth annual Hunger Games, fear grips the districts of Panem. This year, in honor of the Quarter Quell, twice as many tributes will be taken from their homes.
Back in District 12, Haymitch Abernathy is trying not to think too hard about his chances. All he cares about is making it through the day and being with the girl he loves.
When Haymitch's name is called, he can feel all his dreams break. He's torn from his family and his love, shuttled to the Capitol with the three other District 12 tributes: a young friend who's nearly a sister to him, a compulsive oddsmaker, and the most stuck-up girl in town. As the Games begin, Haymitch understands he's been set up to fail. But there's something in him that wants to fight . . . and have that fight reverberate far beyond the deadly arena.

Best one yet?
Amazing job by the narrator. Engaging and heartbreaking story. Might be my favourite of the series. If you’re a fan of the previous books, you’ll love this

amazing narrator
the book is a great story and opens our eyes to more of Panem. Told through Haymitch we learn more about the history of this dystopian universe. the narrator is the best part, sharing different voices, adding empathy to each line. As a long time Hunger Games fan, I adore this novel.

Not too old to listen to a Hunger Games book
Given that I haven’t read any Hunger Games books since I was 8-12 (I’m 25 now), I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed this! Performance was very, very well done and Jefferson White made a very convincing young Haymitch. It was good enough that I’ll be listening to The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes next! Might even get the original trilogy too. Definitely worth a credit if you’re thinking about this one!

Exactly what a prequel should seek to achieve
I was hooked in immediately seeing Haymitch's young self so optimistic and open-hearted. His life is, of course, a hard one in District 12, and, like all in his community, touched by tragedy from a young age, but he is surrounded by his community and cares-for/is-cared-for-by them.
The way this changes through the story into the Haymitch we know from the original cheerful, social teenager seems like a big ask at the start, but it seems almost inevitable by the end of the book.
Beautiful and heart-rending like any other reader of this series would expect. It does not disappoint.

Loved!
I absolutely love how a lot of the characters from all books were connected somehow by Hamish‘s story this was such a good read, and it made so many things make sense. I’ll definitely be listening to this many more times in the future.

I’m truly in love with it
As a long-time fan of The Hunger Games series, I had high expectations for Sunrise on the Reaping, and this audiobook surpassed them all. The story is gripping, emotional, and brilliantly expands the universe we thought we knew. Suzanne Collins once again proves her mastery in weaving complex characters, political tension, and heartbreaking choices into a world that feels both dystopian and disturbingly real.
What truly elevates this experience on Audible is the phenomenal voice performance. The narrator doesn’t just read the story—they embody it. Every character has distinct emotion, tone, and rhythm, making it easy to immerse yourself in the world of Panem. From the tension-filled reaping scenes to the quiet moments of reflection, the delivery is pitch-perfect, drawing out the raw emotion and gravity of each chapter.

Excellent book, excellent narration
Big fan of all of the Hunger Games books, this was no different. I will say, I enjoyed this book more than the other prequel.
