We're in the middle of an epidemic of average. So-called "normal" people get up every day, go to work, do what's asked of them, leave promptly at five, and return home to sit on the couch and watch TV. Society tells us that this is what it means to lead a balanced life. Don't stress too much or work too hard. Your career isn't everything. But Grant Cardone thinks this preoccupation with balance has really just given an excuse to be mediocre.

Mistakes become more costly, and failure becomes a real possibility for all those who are not able to make the transition. But imagine being able to sell your products when others cannot, being able to take market share from your competitors, and knowing the precise formulas that would allow you to expand your sales while others make excuses.

Since you were old enough to hold a job, you've been hoodwinked to believe that wealth can be created by blindly trusting in the uncontrollable and unpredictable markets: the housing market, the stock market, and the job market. I call this soul-sucking, dream-stealing dogma "The Slowlane" - an impotent financial gamble that dubiously promises wealth in a wheelchair. Description
Extreme success, by definition, lies beyond the realm of normal action. If you want to achieve extreme success, you can’t operate like everybody else and settle for mediocrity. You need to remove luck and chance from your business equation, and lock in massive success. The 10X Rule shows you how! Success is your duty, obligation and responsibility, and this audio book gives you step-by-step guidance on how to achieve phenomenal success for yourself!
With The 10X Rule , you’ll learn to establish the amount of effort needed to guarantee success and ensure that you can continue operating at this level throughout your life. Most people desire success and have great ideas but they come up short on the amount of action required to get their lives to the exceptional levels they deserve. Four degrees of action exist, and in order to achieve your dreams, you must learn to operate at the fourth degree of action: Massive Action. The 10X Rule will dissolve fear, increase your belief in yourself, eliminate procrastination, and provide you with an overwhelming sense of purpose. The 10X Rule compels you to separate yourself from everyone else in the market—and you do that by doing what others refuse to do. Stop thinking in terms of basic needs, and start aiming for abundance—in all areas of your life. The 10X Rule guides you toward the frame of mind that all successful people share. Aim ten times higher than you are right now—and if you come up short, you’ll still find yourself further along than if you had maintained your life’s current status quo. The 10X Rule teaches you how to:
- Reach goals that you previously thought were impossible
- Correctly set goals and guarantee their achievement
- Create unprecedented levels of happiness and satisfaction in every area of your life
- Use fear as fuel to move you into action
- Get everything you want and never have to settle
- Dominate your competition and become a role model for success

30 minutes of book squeezed in 7 and half hours
If you are looking for a book with strategies to improve performance, this is not it. If you need some motivation and would like to get yelled at by your coked-out, Tony Robbins reading uncle, this might be your book.
Here is the book summarized:
SUCCESS IS A MORAL DUTY
SET GOALS THAT ARE OUTSIZED
WORK REALLY HARD
DOMINATE
The author is almost a parody of a motivational speaker. He does not believe in any moderation. Do not waste time planning, just do it!

Narrator yelling at me - returned
I couldn’t take the author/narrator yelling on a single note through the whole book. I returned it after 3 hours. So irritating I couldn’t even tell you what he was saying but I’m pretty sure it was nothing new other than the title that contains the single principle that I had found promising.

Lacks substance.
It lacked specific substantiated research to support claims. It was more or less a story about his life and his success. It just felt like a lot of hype. It may be motivating for some people but I am looking for more evidence based advice. For example, if you want 10x in results try reading 4DX to get there.

I can’t believe this filled a book
I admit to only reading 25% through before returning. The concept is ok - work 10x harder to produce better results, reiterated 1000 different ways. I agree with another review that the author is energized and passionate. Also agree with another review that the narration is abrasive and didn’t inspire me. Self help books and tough love are my jam, yet I couldn’t dig into this one.

The Antidode to Analysis Paralysis
True to form Cardone delivers his message with conviction and lots of energy. The book is what I would call "Antidode to Analysis Paralysis".
It is a bit simplistic in its message. Basically a bias to action is always preferable to inaction.
I don't know about that. Read the Art of War to see what I mean. Timing and being in a state of readiness is as important as taking action when called for.
There is no rush to do the wrong things.
I think Cardone took an extreme stance because of the prevelance of procrastination and excuse making. So he wanted to counterbalance with his 10.X message.
Not a masterpiece, but worth the read.

Game Changer
This book was my introduction to Audible! As a Newbie in Network Marketing, I never quite understood the importance of constant knowledge building to make it big it this world! Grant Cardone has been a big part in Game Changing my business and the total aspects of my life! I absolutely love this book an strongly recommend that if you are in the Network Marketing Industry this book is a must have! "if you want to recruit 30 people in one month and your currently only Recruiting 3 or 4 then you need to 10X yourself." Grant's voice narrating his book is beyond powerful! He gets you hyped! But ultimately what I love most about Audible, is the fact that as your listening to the book being read to you, dont even bother trying to follow along with the hard copy because he goes above and beyond the book itself explaining EVERYTHING! #Audible1
From my experience Grant Cardone and Eric Worre are the two BEST Authors in the Network Marketing Industry! Thank you Audible!

Great book
Overall, one has to be in the correct mindset to appreciate this book. Grant has brilliant ideas and makes one realize that persistent, obsession and big dreams are required and then action times 10 your thinking is needed to be successful. Why settle for average...when you are way more than that.

Very motivating but redundant !
Grant Cardone gives you power and motivation to overpass yourself and get more done ! He has such an incredible energy. This is pure gold for motivation.
But in the same time I tink that what he is saying is very redundant.
Still a very good book to listen to.

Absolutely terrible advice.
He basically goes on and on about ”all you need to do is work hard”. He is no doubt successfull but I’d consider this book a scam filled with BS. There’s no real substance. Just look on Youtube and you’ll see what a nut job the guy is. I simply could not finish this joke of a book. Spend your money on something with actual value.

Bait & Switch
I never write reviews but I had too for this. I kept switching chapters to try and find the actual chapter of what the 10x rule is or some real substance. The author literally just rants and raves about how good he is and how everyone thinks the wrong way preventing them to be successful.
I don’t understand why this book was on the top recommendation for me nor why it was at the top of the category. It’s so repetitive with NO substance.

one of the most influential book I've ever read
I've just finished listening to the book "The 10X Rule" by Grant Cordon. I believe everything he suggests in this book works for every individual regardless of the race, education, gender or amount of money. Highly recommend this book to all who want to be successful.
Here are 31 Traits of Wildly Successful People from this book
1. Have a “Can Do” Attitude
People with a “can do” attitude approach every situation with the outlook that no matter what, it can be done. They consistently use phrases like “We can do it,” “Let’s make it happen,” “Let’s work it out”—and they always maintain that a solution exists. These people talk in terms of explanations and resolving issues and consistently communicate challenges with a positive outlook.
2. Believe That “I Will Figure It Out”
Even if you’re not sure how to do something, the best answer is “I will figure it out”—not “I don’t know.” You can admit that you’re unfamiliar with something—as long as you immediately follow that admission up with the promise that you will figure it out or find someone who will.
3. Focus on Opportunity
Successful people see all situations—even problems and complaints—as opportunities. Where others see difficulty, successful individuals know that problems solved equal new products, services, customers—and probably financial success. Remember: Success is overcoming a challenge. Therefore, you can’t succeed without some kind of difficulty.
4. Love Challenges
Whereas many people loathe challenges—and use them as reasons to sink further into indifference—highly successful individuals are compelled and invigorated by challenges. Challenges are the experiences that sharpen successful people’s abilities. To achieve your goals, you have to get to a place where every challenge becomes fuel for you.
5. Seek to Solve Problems
Give me a problem—any problem—and when I solve it, I will be rewarded and I may become a hero. The bigger the problems—and the more people who benefit from the solution—the more powerful your success will be. One of the fastest and best ways to separate yourself from the masses is to establish yourself as someone who makes situations better, not worse.
6. Persist Until Successful
The ability to persist on a given path regardless of setbacks, unexpected events, bad news, and resistance—to continue steadfastly or firmly in some state, purpose, or course of action in spite of conditions—is a trait common to those who make it. This quality is necessary to make any dream a reality.
7. Take Risks
Most people never go far enough in getting recognized, gaining attention, and making a big splash; they are trying to protect or conserve a reputation, a position, or some already achieved state. The successful are willing to take gambles—to put it all out there and know, regardless of the outcome, that they can go back and do it again. Remember the old saying, “Nothing ventured, nothing gained.”
8. Be Unreasonable
Unreasonable doesn’t mean being mentally unstable—and let’s face it, who isn’t just a little off the rocker—but that you refuse to validate the alleged “sanity” of reasonable actions that will never get you what you want. Think about it: Would we have cars, airplanes, space travel, telephones, and the Internet if someone hadn’t done something that another person had labeled “unreasonable”? Man would do nothing exceptional if it were not for the willingness to be unreasonable.
9. Be Dangerous
Being careful requires you to take actions cautiously—and there is no way that you will ever hit 10X activity levels by being cautious. Massive action demands that you throw caution to the wind, even if it puts you in the path of danger.
10. Readily Take Action
The highly successful take unbelievable amounts of action. Regardless of what that action looks like, these people rarely do nothing—even when they are on vacation (just ask their spouses or families!). The unsuccessful talk about a plan for action but never quite get around to doing what they claim they’re going to do—at least enough to ever get what they want. Successful people assume that their future achievements rely on investing in actions that may not pay off today but that when taken consistently and persistently over time will sooner or later bear fruit.
11. Always Say “Yes”
When given an option to do or not do something, always say yes! Life is to be lived— something that becomes impossible to do when you’re constantly saying no. Give this a try: Say yes until you become so successful that you are forced to add “no” to your arsenal and start managing your time and efforts. Until then, make saying “yes” part of your success-building habits.
12. Habitually Commit
Commitment is actually one of the things of which there is a shortage. Far too many individuals and organizations fail to commit fully to their activities, duties, obligations, and responsibilities to see things all the way through. To acquire success, it is vital that you quit testing the water’s temperature and simply jump in!
13. Go All the Way
Until an action is turned into a success, it is not done. Until you make the potential client a client or the potential investor an investor, you have not gone all the way. This might seem harsh, but if you called a client 50 times and didn’t get the deal done, then you might as well have not called that person at all. This is the point at which people become reasonable and therefore don’t make it. Commit to being completely unreasonable and going all the way.
14. Focus on “Now”
Taking actions immediately allows the most successful to design the future they desire. They’re well aware that procrastination is the ultimate weakness. Anyone who puts off doing what he or she can do right now will never gain the momentum and confidence that result from doing so.
15. Demonstrate Courage
You’ll often notice that successful people carry themselves with an air of confidence and conviction, a sense of comfort, and maybe even a touch of arrogance. Before you start thinking that they are somehow inherently “different,” you should understand that they acquired these qualities as a result of taking action. The more frequently you can do things that scare you a bit, the more others will label you as courageous—and then gravitate toward you.
16. Embrace Change
How can you create success when you are trying to keep things from becoming any different? It is impossible. The successful look at how the world is shifting and apply this to how they might grow their advantage. They know that they must continue to adapt. The willingness to accept change is a great quality of the successful.
17. Determine and Take the Right Approach
The successful know that they can quantify what works and what doesn’t work, whereas the unsuccessful focus solely on “hard work.” Whatever the method may be, the successful don’t think in terms of hard work (even though they are, of course, willing to work hard). Instead, they figure out how to work “smart” and handle the situation by finding and using the right approach until they succeed.
18. Break Traditional Ideas
The most successful are looking to create traditions—not follow already established ones. Do not be a prisoner of the thinking agreed upon by others. Figure out ways to take advantage of the traditional thinking that holds others back.
19. Be Goal-Oriented
Successful people are highly goal-oriented and always pay more attention to the target than the problem. They are seemingly able to bend bullets because of their commitment and focus on the goal. Although I try to stay focused on the present, I want to keep most of my attention on the bigger picture of my goals rather than on just the task I’m accomplishing at that moment.
20. Be on a Mission
Until you start approaching your job as though you are on a mission, it will always be reduced to “just a job.” You must undertake every activity with the zealous attitude that this endeavor could forever change the world. Approach every phone call, e-mail, sales visit, meeting, presentation, and day you spend at the office not as a job but as a calling for which you will forever be known.
21. Have a High Level of Motivation
Motivation refers to the act or state of being stimulated toward action. To succeed, it is critical that you be stimulated, excited, and driven to some action or actions. This isn’t the kind of enthusiasm that lasts for a few hours, a day, or a week; it’s based on what you do each day to stimulate yourself toward actions and inspire yourself to keep going. Highly successful people continually seek and uncover reasons to stay perpetually provoked to new levels of success.
22. Be Interested in Results
Successful people don’t value effort or work or time spent on an activity; they value the results. Let’s face it: Like it or not, the results are all that matter. Be hard on yourself and never let yourself off the hook until you get results.
23. Have Big Goals and Dreams
The greatest regret of my life is that I initially set targets and goals based on what was realistic rather than on giant, radical thinking. “Big think” changes the world. Dream big, go big, and then figure out how to go bigger than that!
24. Create Your Own Reality
The successful are a lot like magicians; they don’t deal in other people’s realities. Instead, they are bent on creating a new reality for themselves that is different from the one that others accept. They aren’t interested in what other people deem possible or impossible; they only care about producing the things they dream are possible.
25. Commit First—Figure Out Later
Most people assume that they have to figure everything out first and will commit once they do; however, they never seem to get around to it. Although it can be dicey to commit first and figure the rest out later, it is my belief that creativity and problem solving are stimulated only after a person fully commits.
26. Be Highly Ethical
To me, being ethical doesn’t just mean playing by society’s agreed-upon rules. I also believe that being ethical requires people to do what they have told others they would do—and doing so until they get the desired results. I am not talking about “cash register” ethics here but rather the bigger concept of living up to your abilities and potential as well as your unspoken or explicit commitments.
27. Be Interested in the Group
You can only do as well as the people around you. The larger population’s health and well-being should be of utmost importance to each individual member—which is something that the most successful know. You want everyone on your team winning and improving because this is likely to improve your game. For that reason, you always want to do everything you can to bring the rest of the team to higher levels.
28. Be Dedicated to Continuous Learning
The most successful CEOs are reported to read an average of 60 books and attend more than six conferences per year.. The most successful people I know read everything they can get their hands on.
29. Be Uncomfortable
The most important things I have done in my life were not the things I was comfortable doing; in fact, many of them made me very uneasy. It is so tempting to become content with your surroundings, daily rituals, and habits—most of which are probably not furthering your mission. It feels good when things are familiar. However, successful people are willing to put themselves in new and unfamiliar situations. Be willing to be uncomfortable. It is a sure sign that you’re on your way to success.
30. “Reach Up” in Relationships
Make a habit of “reaching up” in all of your relationships— toward people who are better connected, better educated, and even more successful. The people with whom you surround yourself will have a great deal to do with whether you achieve your goals—or not. You don’t want to go horizontal. You want to go up—and you do this by associating yourself with bigger thinkers, bigger dreamers, and bigger players.
31. Be Disciplined
In order to ever attain and keep success, you must determine which habits are constructive— and discipline both yourself and your group (see point 28) to do those things over and over again.

Like being stuck on an airplane
This book is completely unlistenable. The author reads his own book in a brain-damaged frat boy cadence, mispronouncing common words and other times lapsing into this weird, bullying tone that I sometimes hear coming from angry dads at Home Depot on a Sunday afternoon. If it were a book, I would have thrown it.
I returned the audiobook and skimmed a copy at the airport next time I took a flight. Everything he says could be condensed into a few paragraphs, and most of it is BS.

Not what I expected, and very happy it's not.
I'm only 1/2 way through but wanted to write a quick note to shed some light on the negative reviews.
This book is not necessarily a how to. At least not so far. What this book is, is a reminder that if you think you are working hard enough, you're not. If you believe you're thinking big enough, you're not. If you feel you have have reached your full potential, you haven't.
I am already finding the 10x mindset chipping away at my "normal" life and showing improvements.
I do recommend listening to this at 2x speed (if you can handle it). As some people have complained, there isn't a lot of new stuff here. But at 2x it's like having a personal instructor trying to motivate you.
This book isn't going tell you there is an easy way out. It IS going to tell you that it's your duty to be successful and to get your butt in gear. Being successful takes effort.
I'm really glad I didn't listen to the naysayers. Sometimes we don't need new strategies, we only need a jolt to wake up and take action.
Hope this helps someone.

Save your time. Could be summed in 1 sentence
I wish I would have read the negative reviews before buying this. It makes me wonder if all the positive reviewers have actually read any other good books. I found it intriguing at first, however as it went on he basically just regurgitates the same thing over and over and over again in different ways. You start to think he just likes to hear himself talk. The only chapter I really felt added value was chapter 22, talking about different traits of successful people. Even though most of that is pretty common sense, it's at least good for personal reflection. However, if you're looking for any actual strategy, this book is not for you.
Basically, it can be summed up in one sentence: If you want success, do 10 times the work, 10 times more than you think you need to do and quit whining. You're welcome.

Set massive goals and take massive actions
There are only two main points in this book: set massive goals (10 times what you think you can achieve) and take massive actions (10 times more than what you would have normally done). So if your goal is save $1,000, then restate that as "I saved $10,000" (as if you've already achieved it). If you think you can get two new customers each week, put in 10 times the effort to aim for 20 new customers each week. Each of the chapters are pounding on behavior changes, like don't behave like a victim. Traffic didn't make you late. That's an excuse. Do more than the average level of work. Commit to and deliver exceptional work. Don't retreat when economic conditions take a down turn. Get out there, meet with the customers, increase your advertising while your competitors are cutting back, and expand your market as they retract. This book reads like a life coach yelling at you.

Book summed up in two words: do more
I’m impressed that a whole book can be filled by one principle. Simply work harder. That’s it. Skip the book.
