Description

After an unexpected twist of fate, All-Star catcher Easton Wylder is left questioning the loyalty of everyone around him.

Even the woman who shares his bed, Scout Dalton.

But if Easton thought being uprooted to the last place he expected was the only challenge life had to throw at him, he was dead wrong.

With an ailing shoulder and his career in limbo, his decision to make an unexpected change leads him to question everything - Scout's love, family loyalties, and whether he can conquer the one obstacle he's never been able to overcome. The secret he's never shared with anyone.

He may be a man pushed to his limits, but he's hell-bent on proving his worth no matter the cost.

Simply amazing

What can I say. This has been an amazing conclusion to this two book series.
Love the characters even more in this book. I mean really. Easton, how can you not. Tough guy as he is all that’s happening almost too much for even him.
But with the help of the one, Scout, he gets through the toughest moments of his life.
Admiration I feel for Scout. The way she supports the one she loves. With everything she’s got.
This story had me smile, laugh, cry, sob....all at the same time. Feeling every emotion down to my core.
All I can say is “simply amazing”. A five star read and a definite recommend.

OK romance, but a cliffhanger

This is one of my pet irritations. a book that is incomplete unless you buy the rest of the story. This story is incomplete without also listening to The Player.

5 The Catch Stars

I am left with a full heart after this book.

I said it before I am not a fan of cliffy’s and well that still holds true but… wow these books were phenomenal I can forgive the cliffy. ;)

Easton really surprised me in this book, because I felt in the first book he held back so much. With this book he let it all hang out, sure he took time for himself when needed and I can’t fault the guy for that he had to work through things on his own before he could let Scout in.

Phew and Scout she was awesome she let Easton have the time he needed and she would seek him out when she knew he needed that too. She really goes through a lot in this book more so because of the health issue her father was having. You see her struggle and I liked that Easton was there for her when she needed him. Very much liked that she was there for Easton without judgment that was a surprise to me and it made me like her all the more for it.

What a great end to a two book series, it tied everything up but still left us with so much to think about. A full heart.

Total fan of the narration too both Andi and Joe have that special something that brings this book to life in our ears. I can’t think of a better duo to have done this book justice.

*You don't have to like my review but its 100% my opinion, and I am allowed to have it.*

Predictable

The overall story was good. It just took long to get the point a fee of the times. I do want to do any spoliers but there were a few times when I was thinking... come obviously this is what is happening.... get to the point.

Don’t judge a man until...

... until you’ve walked a mile in his moccasins. That’s the moral I took from this story.

Right up until the moment Easton confessed to Scout his huge secret I was angry with his behavior towards her and was referring to him as a “man-child”, and wondering what the hell such a well-put-together woman was seeing in him. Then it all became clear, and I felt like such an @$$hole. I thought he was being a typical alpha male jackass, and then I felt like the jackass.

This was a good story, made so much better by such an awesome team of narrators; Andi and Joe are at the pinnacle of their profession.

It was more than a romance; but the love scenes were really hot, too. I’ve noticed now that Kristi writes a kind of physical and emotional intimacy that makes me cry and want what she describes for myself, an incredible level of articulate closeness that just blows the mind and wrecks the heart. I find it easy to empathize with what the lovers are feeling and saying to each other, the way she writes it.

The only reason I didn’t give the story part of this 5 stars is because I’m trying to save my 5-star ratings for things like War & Peace or Dune.

Read "The Player" first!

This book continues the story in the Players. It really should be just one book. I highly recommend reading these books in order. I really enjoyed this book with its many twists and turns. I do wish that writers would understand that children of alcoholics, should be very careful about their use of alcoholics. However, it has a lot of meat in it and some funny stuff too. The plot is interest and the racy scenes written well. I hope someday their will be third book that deals with some unfinished issues.

Part 2 of Scout & Easton's story.

This book is the completion of Scout and Easton's story. The first part of the book was a bit odd in the sense that so many of the chapters sounded like an ending. I'm not sure if that has to do with the writing or narration, though (I listened to the Audible version of this book).

Over the course of this book Scout and Easton have to face many challenges both individually and as a couple. After the giant fight at the beginning of the book, those challenges only served to make their relationship stronger. I was really nice to see them work together as a couple to get through so many things, each supporting the other when needed and working as a team to solve problems. I just absolutely loved the connection they had to one another. The two compliment each other so well and their love for one another is evident.

This book most definitely features a HEA ending and no cliffhanger. Overall, between The Player and this book, this was a great story. It pulled me in and kept engaged. It made me laugh and there were parts that almost made me cry. This book seems to have a good amount of steaminess to it. The sex scenes aren't overly explicit while still giving some details of the act itself.

Andi Arndt and Joe Arden did a wonderful job in narrating this book. I really enjoy the tone of both of their voices and will look forward to hearing their narration in the future.

Catch of a lifetime

Easton and Scout are about to face some storms. Each time they reveal another piece of themselves to each other there’s another storm brewing on the horizon. Despite the hurricane that is their life they hold on even after they both wavered a bit. It’s become very clear that their strength is within their union. What a roller coaster ride and boy was this hot and sexy. A lovely end to this story.

Well done, Bromberg!

So the finale to The Player Duet, I couldn’t ask for it to be done better. I have been a fan of Easton and Scout since the first book. I loved their relationship and wanted them to out last all the challenges. I had so many emotions through this books. There was parts that touched my soul. I felt the ups and downs. I didn’t want to stop when I started the book. Beautiful story! Thought Bromberg did a good job bringing the duet to an end.

Great story

Great story! Well developed characters. Funny and sad, loving and joy. I love Andi Arendt, but not fond of Joe Arden. He doesn’t get into the characters.
