Wonderful beyond words

Not as true to the Bible as I was expecting. More exact verses sparkle throughout would ha e been good. Or use Jesus actual words he speaks. Good for a general overview of the main Bible story lines.

Love the book, Love the audio even more
If you could sum up The Jesus Storybook Bible in three words, what would they be?
Our family just loves this book. What an amazingly written book about the true meaning of God's word. It is great for kids and adults alike to grasp why God created us and why he sent his son to die for us. I didn't think we could love the book more than we did when we read it ourselves. I was thrilled to see the reader on this since he is one of our favorite actors on PBS. He does an amazing job bringing this to life!! My daughter lays in bed at night and listens to it on her Kindle. No better way to fall asleep than hearing God's word!
What about David Suchet’s performance did you like?
The way he makes it come to life!!

A Wonderful Buy!!
I could probably have written a review before having downloaded this book just based on the fact that we own the hard copy of this book. This is the BEST children's Bible I've seen yet! After listening to the sample audio I knew my son would LOVE this download and I was right. This is a winner!

When the reader loves the story ...
Where does The Jesus Storybook Bible rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
This is an exceptional book for children from ages 4 to 10 or 12. It was written with such love, and read with such tenderness, that the listener is drawn into it like wrapping oneself in a warm towel. Rarely have I heard the kind of heart that this book contains, and my 3 kids love it! We listen to books in the car every day (literally) and this is always the one they ask for first.
What did you like best about this story?
I like the fact that the theology is solid. Yes, the author imagines some aspects of daily life and inserts some dialog, but nothing that is counter to authentic Scripture. The important points of each biography are included, true to Scripture. And the author ties each chapter to the overarching message of the Bible, Jesus' creation of man, His love for us, and His salvation of us.
What does David Suchet bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Suchet is clearly a gifted actor, but he's more. He takes his time with this reading, which allows the child to drink it in, savor it, and make discoveries in her own mind as she reads it. He lets it breathe, which makes it come to life. He does all this without plodding or "talking down" to the listener. And he obviously loves God, which makes his tender yet vibrant performance authentic.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
I would not listen to it in one sitting. There is a lot to think about between stories. Time must be given for God to speak to children's tender hearts, without rushing to the next chapter.

Told by a loving grandpa
What made the experience of listening to The Jesus Storybook Bible the most enjoyable?
I loved the reader. He sounds like an old british grandpa filled with love, not to mention he's funny and entertaining. The story of Tower of Babel is so cute! When they all start speaking different languages the narrator explains that you might turn to your fellow neighbor and say "Awh, what a lovely morning..." And, what they hear is: "Shut up your boring." (all said in a British grandpa voice, it's so cute!)
What did you like best about this story?
Every story is told from the angle of love. God loves his children, that's the message the whole way through.

We have this both as a book and an audiobook and I highly recomend both. The audio version is beatifully read and absolutely striking. It is read so well that you don't even miss the illustrations (which in the paper version are utterly delighttful too).

So Beautiful!!
This audio book is so wonderful in how it relates God's love to children. Not only is the content lovely in how it speaks on a child's level, the narrator really captures the spirit beautifully in how he reads the story. I sit and listen to it and feel ministered to as well, it just keeps things so simple, portraying God's unconditional love!! An absolute must, gifted it to all my friends with kids!

Your kids will love it. Transforming!
Played one chapter per night with my children and did a verbal analysis with them at the end of each chapter. David Suchet's narration was great!!!

Magnificent...
What did you love best about The Jesus Storybook Bible?
My son has listened to this NUMEROUS times. In fact, he has memorized several of the stories word-for-word. I am so grateful for this book. It is a definite must-buy for anyone that wants their children to learn good theology at a young age.
