In a charismatic and relatable voice, Minda Harts brings her entrepreneurial experience as CEO of The Memo to audio, as well as her past career life as a fundraising consultant to top colleges across the country. With wit and candor, Harts begins by acknowledging the ugly truths that keep women of color from getting the proverbial seat at the table in corporate America: micro-aggressions, systemic racism, white privilege, etc. Harts validates that women aren't making up the discrimination they feel, even if it isn't always overt. From there, she gives straight talk on how to address these issues head-on and provides a roadmap to help women of color and their allies make real change to the system. With chapters on network-building, office politics, money, and negotiation, this overview covers all the basics that any good business book should. But through the author's lens, it offers support and long-overdue advice particularly for women of color.

The Memo is a must read
I really enjoyed listening to this book. It’s a must-read for anyone who is serious about acknowledging and changing the current system. I loved it.

The Bible for Black Women in the workplace
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I felt heard and understood. I nodded along, I laughed, I got angry as I reflected on my experiences!
I love that she covered all areas, she spoke to her sistahs, she gave some pointers to our white counterparts and finally she left all of us with a plan of action to move forward. This book is the Manual for all black women in the workplace! We NEEDED IT! Thank Minda for being that voice!

Loved the practical approach

Amazing to hear from a voice like mine
I really underestimated the power behind hearing someone that looks like me talk about their experience in the workplace and in their fear achieving success. Audible needs more black and black female authors in their catalogue that write about business, success, and the plight of living and excelling while black. Why? Because the way we navigate white spaces is unique to our experience in the workforce.
