Description

The inspirational number-one best seller by John P. Strelecky. Now translated into 36 languages and read by more than two million readers worldwide.

In a small cafe at a location so remote it sits in the middle of the middle of nowhere, John - a man in a hurry - is at a crossroads. Intent only on refueling before moving along on his road trip, he finds sustenance of an entirely different kind. In addition to the specials of the day, the cafe menu lists three questions all diners are encourage to consider.

  • Why are you here?
  • Do you fear death?
  • Are you fulfilled?

With this food for thought and the guidance of three people he meets at the cafe, John embarks on a journey of self-discovery that takes him from the executive suites of the advertising world to the surf of Hawaii's coastline. Along the way he discovers a new way to look at life, himself, and just how much you can learn from a green sea turtle.

Meh

I don't really get the hype on this book. I was really excited to listen to it, and it was okay, but I am kind of dissapointed. My expectations were high, but I just find this book to have the same exact message as any other personal developpement book. Nothing special.

Expired can of tuna

The author uses a lot of analogies instead of clear talk. So let me use one, too. This book is like an expired can of tune from the 1990's that the author reheats haphazardly and tries to sell you as something new and revolutionary. All these "wisdoms" were en vogue in the 1990 and were presented better in other books. The fisherman analogy?? Really?? In 2019? It sounds good in theory to work enough to enjoy a nice dinner at the shore with your family. But what if your kids want to go to expensive university or you have an expensive hobbys like travelling? Catching a few fish a day won't pay for those. Along those lines, this book seems to be geared towards singles who only have to worry about themselves. None of the fictional characters have families and responsibilities. They are only worried about their own "fullfilment ". I would love to just go fishing every day and my kids would wear potato sacks for clothing and be analphabets living under a rock in the woods. But I, I would be super fulfilled. Western civilizations weren't build by people who only did what gave them pleasure. 90%of jobs out there (e. G. garbage collector, sewer cleaner, waiter, office worker, etc) are not picked as a dream job but somebody has to do them regardless if you don't want civilisation to collapse. So, how do a job that doesn't fulfill you but it gives you the means to take care of your family?? Explore that road maybe. This is another book by an ultra - liberal-far-remived-from-reality-hipocrit that promises you easy solutions on 120 pages to a very complex question. I am not saying you shouldn't search for answers but this book is sure not it and there are much better reads out there.

If you aren’t feeling totally fulfilled, try this!

This is a very basic, easy to read and understand Life purpose 101 handbook. The concepts are simple but many people have never considered them. I would be willing to bet that 99% of people would get benefit from reading this. It’s very short and easy so it’s worth it! I will especially be sharing this book with the younger people in my life who are just figuring out what they need to go do in the world. It will offer them a perspective that society for the most part has not.
