À propos de cet audio

A podcast for the late-diagnosed, the differently wired, and anyone who’s ever thought: 'Wait… is this ADHD?' Hosted by Dave, ADHD Come Lately is a raw, funny, and unfiltered exploration of discovering ADHD in adulthood. Through personal stories, sharp insights, and plenty of unexpected tangents (of course), this podcast unpacks the messy magic of neurodivergent life—after years of masking, misdiagnosis, and misunderstood meltdowns. This podcast is not a diagnostic tool and we encourage you to speak with a trained medical professional for advice about ADHD.A Bloke Called Dave Hygiène et mode de vie sain Psychologie Psychologie et santé mentale

🎧 ADHD Come Lately – Episode 2: Screen Time – Could You Have ADHD?

    🚨 Now Live! (~25 mins)

Happy NAIDOC Week for any one in Australia.

In this episode, I dive into the perplexing world of ADHD screeners (and online quizzes).

We’ll take a look at the ASRS screener (with a slightly questionable Freudian accent – I tried), so you can follow along and reflect on your own answers.

💡 I also talk about how AI tools (like the one I used) can help consolidate your symptoms into something more readable—super handy if you’re prepping for a GP visit or ADHD assessment.

😉 Plus, there’s an impulsive story involving 90s boybands, a disposable razor, and one very uneven eyebrow.

🎙️ Whether you're newly diagnosed, maybe diagnosed, still questioning, or just here for the laughs—hit play and come along.

Please share and follow, to spur me on. Contrary to what I've discussed this episode, I'm not sponsored by ChatGPT or TK Maxx.

    🎙️ Episode 1 – Bloody Hell… I Think I’m ADHD!

In this first episode, I share what it’s been like to realise—possibly way too late—that I might have ADHD.

It’s not a polished or expert story. It’s just me, trying to make sense of what’s been a weird, emotional, and sometimes unexpectedly funny in-between stage: after the “could this be ADHD?” moment, but before any kind of formal diagnosis.

Some people say you shouldn’t talk about ADHD until it’s confirmed. I get that. But this podcast isn’t about answers—it’s about the messy middle. The confusion, the overthinking, the “wait... has it always been like this?” kind of stuff. That’s where I’m at. And if you’re somewhere similar, maybe this makes you feel a little less alone.

    🪶 Acknowledgement of Country

This episode was recorded on the lands of the Wallamattegal Clan of the Dharug Nation. I pay respect to Elders past and present, and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples listening. I acknowledge the strength and resilience of the oldest surviving culture on Earth, whose knowledge systems offer powerful ways of understanding the world—including the many ways minds can work.

    💡 Recognition of Lived Experience

If you’ve ever been called lazy, difficult, too sensitive, too much—or just felt like you didn’t quite fit—your story matters. This podcast is about finding language for experiences that never quite made sense until now, and maybe laughing a little along the way.

🧠 The Straw That Broke the Camel’s Brain

A stressful moment at an international airport became the final nudge—the moment I couldn’t explain away anymore. Executive dysfunction showed up loud and clear, and for once, I noticed.

“In that moment, my brain picked the wrong emergency. It always has.”

    ---

    👟 The Suede Saga

One small scuff on a shoe. Two months of YouTube tutorials, indecision, and accidental destruction. I didn’t mean to turn it into a saga—but welcome to my brain.

    ---

“Have you ever felt like you don’t belong...?”

I talk about shame, pressure, and trying to hold it all together on the outside—even when things inside feel like a constant scramble.

🔜 Coming Up in Episode 2: Screen Time

I’ll be looking at the ADHD screening tool (the ASRS-v1.1), and reflecting on how it landed for me. Helpful? Misleading? A little of both?
