  • Behind The Clinic Doors: The Foot Health Podcast
    Sep 20 2025

Welcome to the very first episode of Behind the Clinic Doors: The Foot Health Podcast! This is where the journey begins. In this opening conversation, I wanted to share not just the “what” of this podcast, but the “why.” Why put a microphone in front of me? Why open the doors to my little corner of the healthcare world and invite you in? The answer is simple: because working solo doesn’t mean working alone, and because foot health, as practical and personal as it is, deserves a space where stories, knowledge, and real human connections can live side by side.

As a foot health practitioner working largely on my own, the day-to-day can feel a little isolating. I know I’m not the only one who feels this way. Many healthcare professionals, especially those running solo practices, know the reality: we wear all the hats, juggle all the responsibilities, and sometimes wonder if anyone else really understands the challenges and small victories we face. This podcast is my way of reaching across those invisible walls, building a community where people like me can connect, share, and feel a little less “solo.” If you’re a practitioner, my hope is that you’ll find comfort in these episodes, knowing you’re not the only one navigating this path.

But this podcast isn’t just for clinicians or colleagues. It’s also for clients, patients, and the curious listener who wants to know more about what really happens in a foot health clinic. I want to pull back the curtain a little and show the world that behind every appointment, every routine check-up, and every bit of professional care, there’s a human being, one who cares deeply, learns constantly, and yes, occasionally makes mistakes and laughs about them. By sharing stories, insights, and conversations, I hope clients will see not just the work I do, but the heart behind it.

In this first episode, I mix the serious with the lighthearted. You’ll hear a heartfelt story that explains why this work means so much to me and why giving foot health a voice matters more than ever. But it’s not all serious, there’s also a funny story in here, because laughter is as much a part of the clinic as stethoscopes and scalpel blades. Humour helps us cope, connect, and remember that health is about the whole person, not just the treatment plan.

Think of this podcast as sitting down in the waiting room, only instead of waiting for your turn, you get to listen in on the stories, reflections, and experiences that don’t always make it into the appointment. Some weeks it will be practical tips and myth-busting around foot care. Other weeks it will be real, raw conversations about what it’s like to be a healthcare provider in today’s world. And sometimes, it’ll just be me sharing a story from the clinic that made me laugh or reminded me why I chose this path in the first place.

What I hope you’ll take away from Episode 1 is a sense of connection. If you’re a practitioner, I want you to feel that you have a seat at this table, a place where your struggles, joys, and daily realities are seen and shared. If you’re a client, I want you to understand that this isn’t just a job for me, it’s a calling, one that’s filled with compassion, curiosity, and yes, a fair amount of humor. And if you’re simply a curious listener, I hope you’ll walk away entertained, informed, and maybe a little more appreciative of the amazing things our feet do for us every single day.

So, welcome. Welcome to Behind the Clinic Doors: The Foot Health Podcast. Welcome to the conversations, the laughter, the lessons, and the stories. This is just the beginning, and I can’t wait to see where the journey takes us.
