Maren Stafford is the mother of 7 boys, 1 girl, and currently head coach of the Mountain View Girls Wrestling team. She grew up living in many places with her father being in the military. Early on, she found an identity in sports as they got her through high school, college, and led her to her husband. From adapting to life in Germany for over a decade as a young mother, having years of experience in high level athletics, and learning resilience from parenting a full household, Maren was the perfect candidate to fill a coaching job for the Girls Wrestling Team down the street in 2019; but to her this was never plan A- in Maren’s words, “I got accidentally roped into this!” However, 6 years later she’s grown to love this role and what it’s taught her. From embracing a team of misfits, to building trust with her athletes, empowering all who walk onto the wrestling mat, and making sure they are heard and known, her message is to be heard by ALL who need the reminder that everyone needs to see others deeply- and in turn be deeply seen!
