Katy Harris is an accredited Family and Civil Mediator, specialising in Child-Inclusive Mediation and trauma-informed practice. She is the founder of Mediation Matters Midlands Ltd and The London Mediation Company and holds a Law degree from De Montfort University. Before training as a mediator in 2020, Katy spent 17 years working as a Child Development Consultant, teaching on confidence, resilience and child wellbeing - experience that continues to shape her distinctive, child-centred approach to mediation.
Her practice blends safeguarding, developmental psychology and sustainable outcomes. Her work is recognised for its integrity, inclusivity and commitment to keeping families out of adversarial court processes. She is accredited by the Family Mediation Council (FMC) and a Member of Family Mediation Association (FMA).
A sought-after speaker and trainer, Katy has presented at the American Bar Association Conference in Chicago, the Amicable Divorce Network Conference in Charleston, The Young FMA Conference UK and the Divorce Fair UK. She is also the host of Bridging the Gap: Bridging Families, Law & Conflict Resolution, a major international conference taking place in London in March 2026.
Her mission is to transform the way society understands family breakdown, replacing adversarial processes with compassion, humour, and humanity.
