Scope of Episode: EP 033 Part 2 of 2

Listen to Part 2 of our discussion with the incredible: Head of School Mr John Player from “The Stanway School” that took the brave leap to participate in a Channel UK Documentary " Swiped: The School That Banned SmartPhones".

We are continuing to now see various heart breaking, concerning and worrying TV documentaries, TV programs or News highlighting the real adverse impact of our children being on-line due to the different inappropriate things children can easily access on line such as pornography, x-rated games, bulling on social media etc, unintentionally but due to the “algorithm” which is determined by the Tech Companies such as Tik-Tok, Facebook (meta), Youtube, Instagram etc.

The consequences are severe and alarming. Do we need thetech and social media companies to take more accountability? Or is it down to us as parents to take the initiative?

The more the children spend time online, the less time they have to develop their soft skills which are fundamental to their success both at home and school as they grow into adults.

The children of today are our tomorrow’s leaders and softskills are essential to effective leadership and success but somehow, we are allowing technology and AI to slowly and gradually diminish these essential skills.

We focus on the following for Part 2 in this episode:

    1. The impact on the children and parents

    2. The impact and changes that the school has had to make

    3. How the Government can help with regulation?

    4. What can we as adult/parents/responsible adults do to raise awareness of this issue to keep it on the Government priority agenda to put in place policies and regulations that force Tech companies to take more accountability and protect our children?

    5. Lesson learnt with the students, parents and teachers #highs and #lows

EP 0026: British Airways Failing Operating Model

Out of frustration and disappointment, I share and discuss the failing current British Airways (BA) Cabin Crew and #Heathrow Terminal 5 Automated Security Gate Check Operating Model based on my recent journey experience and observations from a passenger perspective.

#BritishAirways you need to improve the standard of your service. We pay a more than reasonable price for our flight and as passenger "customer" we expect a reasonable service and duty of care.

My experience and observations are unfortunately a demonstration of EP 022 : Why do Operating Models fail? https://open.spotify.com/episode/1qiLm0UQU2gJ4EfUlscAjs?si=YiaeYbzQTH-sqYvVVyxTAA
