In this episode of The Your Level Fitness Podcast, I’m talking about why so many of us end up chasing things outside of ourselves, trying to fit in or prove something, and how that path often leads to emptiness. From a young age, we’re conditioned to look around and see what everyone else is doing. Social media makes it even easier to fall into this trap, feeding us images and stories that make us question our own path or feel we need to “one-up” someone else.

But here’s the thing. The people we’re trying so hard to impress or fit in with are often just as caught up trying to impress someone else. It’s a cycle that leaves us anxious, restless, and disconnected from who we really are. Even if you “make it” into the in-crowd or hit a goal you were chasing for the wrong reasons, you’ll likely find it feels empty. And then you’re left searching for the next thing, thinking that’s where you’ll finally feel good enough.

Instead, I want you to choose yourself. I want you to stay connected to who you are and focus on building a life that truly feels right to you. That’s what living from the inside/out is all about. It’s about quieting the noise, taking ownership of your life, and learning that the highest form of discipline isn’t just working out or eating well. It’s choosing to love, accept, and connect with yourself, even when the world around you says you shouldn’t.

Health and fitness are great places to practice these skills, but they’re not the end goal. The real goal is building a life where you feel calm, steady, and in control because you’re living for yourself, not for anyone else’s expectations.
