🎙 Episode 1-Doing the Work: A White Woman’s Story of Becoming Equity-Minded

In this episode of Know Thy Neighbor, I sit down with Darcy Heath — a mother, grandmother, educator, and lifelong learner — who opens her heart to share what it truly means to wake up to the stories we’ve been taught… and choose to do the work of uncovering personal bias.

As a White woman, Darcy’s personal journey is rooted in love — but also in deep reflection, discomfort, and growth. Together, we talk about what it means to hold privilege and still have gaps in our understanding… to want to do better and not always know how… and to choose, every day, to stay in the conversation anyway.

We explore early childhood education, race, family, systemic inequity, and the quiet moments that shape how we see — or don’t see — one another.

This is a conversation about bravery, not perfection. About listening, even when it’s uncomfortable. And about the sacred work of raising children — and ourselves — to be more awake, more accountable, and more human.
