Don's brings his vast business experience (17 years of corporate sales and marketing and the last 20 years with start-ups) to his position as a mayor. In fact, he makes a compelling comparison of a CEO running a company and a Mayor. "Clearly," he says: "there are major differences, but in my opinion you can indeed operate as a business to the benefit of the taxpayers." Kimberley re-invented itself from a mining town to fabulous ski resort, with a strong focus on lifestyle and the environment. Also, Kimberley's 'Sunmine' has won some worldwide acclaim. Don’s vision is an affordable, sustainable Kimberley that manages its resources in a way that lets us enjoy our chosen lifestyle while also ensuring that it will be shared by future generations.
