À propos de cet audio

In this episode, Bob and Rob discuss Doris Stokes – a British spiritualist medium who captivated millions with her apparent ability to communicate with the dead. Rising to fame in the 1970s and 80s, she packed theaters and became a household name through television appearances and bestselling books.

Stokes claimed to relay messages from the departed to grieving audience members, convincing many of her abilities. However, investigators alleged she employed fraudulent techniques – researching attendees beforehand, making high-probability guesses, and planting accomplices in her audiences.

Despite detailed exposés after her death in 1987, Stokes remains polarizing – a source of comfort and proof of an afterlife for believers… and a case study in psychological manipulation for skeptics.
