  • Tapping into and out of Shame
    Aug 11 2025

Shame is a powerful emotion characterized by a deep sense of unworthiness or worthlessness or negative self evaluation and criticism that is often triggered by the perception of failing to meet a personal or societal standard. Whereas guilt is often associated with specific actions or behaviors, shame goes even more deeply as a way that we continue to cut ourselves down and remove ourselves from the very things in our life that can bring us connection and love. It is commonly the toxic emotional catalyst that leads individuals into addiction as a strategy for finding temporary relief from a sense of overwhelming failure in life. Using EFT for shame calls for a shame-informed approach which recognizes that the causality of shame is often traumatic in nature, commonly connected to childhood trauma, often related to addictions and necessitates a slow and gentle approach with any therapeutic intervention like EFT. In this podcast, we discuss some of those important considerations and adaptations.

There is a significant body of published research demonstrating EFT’s effectiveness for reducing these states. While they are related, they are distinct emotions with different triggers and durations. Fear is often a survival based response to a present and specific threat, while anxiety is a more general feeling of unease or worry about future possibilities, often without a clear or immediate threat. Further along the spectrum are phobias and panic attacks. Craig and Alina offer their ideas for how you can begin to conquer some of these intense emotional states.

  • Unlocking Anger: Use EFT Tapping to Heal the Fury
    Apr 7 2025

In this episode, we explore how Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) tapping can be a powerful tool for healing anger. Anger, often a response to stress, frustration, or unresolved emotions, can take a toll on both our mental and physical health. EFT is a simple yet effective method that combines gentle tapping (somatic stimulation) on specific acupuncture points to help release habitual emotions. While anger can catalyze and push us to take action steps, it can also be a pattern that is triggered by certain situations and can cause harm to loved ones and result in a variety of chronic health problems ranging from cardiovascular disease to back pain. By using EFT, we can neutralize the intense charge of anger, allowing us to feel more balanced, calm, and in control. Whether you’re looking to reduce anger in the moment or work through deeper emotional triggers, EFT offers a path to emotional healing and greater peace. Tune in to learn how this transformative practice can help you break free from the grip of anger and create lasting emotional freedom.

  • Estrangement, Alienation and No Contact
    Mar 17 2025

Interpersonal disconnection appears to be occurring at an epidemic level. Estrangement is the experience of distance or separation from friends and family members. It can exist as diminished contact to complete lack of communication and connection. We are living through a period of time, accelerated by heightened political intensity that has resulted in significantly heightened emotional intensity, which has the consequence often of a felt lack of being heard, understood and feeling safe. How can EFT help? It can be used to support clear decision making, mindful truth speaking and boundary setting. Tapping can certainly assist in finding healing from being hurt, angry, anxious and overwhelmed. Being able to release resentment, guilt and shame in order to choose self care, find safety, focus on personal peace first and subsequently relational healing, when and if it is appropriate and timely can all be facilitated using skillful EFT Tapping.
