À propos de cet audio
What does it take to make heavy-duty electrification practical on Europe’s roads? In this episode, Michael Clarke, co-creator of eTrucker, joins us to talk about building a driver-first charging app for electric trucks. With experience from Tesla, Porsche and NIO, Michael shares how the team designed a tool that helps drivers find truly truck-ready charging—complete with filters for pull-through bays, overnight parking and realistic routing.
The e-Trucker story is grounded in real-world driving. Co-founder Tobias Wagner logged 100,000 electric truck kilometres in just one year to shape the database, which launched with 575 truck-suitable charging parks. Within months, community contributions added more than a hundred sites, creating Europe’s largest driver-verified dataset for truck-capable infrastructure.
Highlights include:
- What “truck-ready” means in practice, from site geometry to services that matter for HGVs
- How driver feedback loops improve data quality and verification
- The roadmap ahead for live availability, bookings and scaling across Europe

This is a hands-on look at how data, feedback and determination are shaping the tools that will make long-haul electrification work.
