“You have rheumatoid arthritis? But you’re so young?!”

Has this been your journey? Cheryl Crow was just 20 years old when she was diagnosed with RA. She was in college and the captain of her soccer team, until one day a number of mysterious and seemingly unconnected symptoms started showing up.

Cheryl talks us through her diagnosis and treatment journey, postpartum depression, acceptance and commitment therapy and how she’s choosing to thrive now.

Guest Bio:

My name is Cheryl Crow and I have had rheumatoid arthritis since I turned twenty years old. I also am an occupational therapist (OT) and faculty member at an OT assistant program.I was diagnosed with gastroparesis (under the umbrella of dysautonomia), rheumatoid arthritis and generalized anxiety disorder in 2003. I also developed SIBO (small intestine bacterial overgrowth) in 2017.

My vision is a world where every patient feels empowered and equipped to participate in meaningful daily activities with more confidence and less overwhelm.

Arthritis Life achieves this mission through producing educational, empowering and inspiring content. Our videos and articles teach life hacks, patient stories, provider interviews, and strategies for coping with chronic illness. I’m so honored to be in the position to create Arthritis Life – a resource I wish was available when I was first diagnosed!
