We are finally back from our summer break! Erik is (mostly) moved in to his new place in Florida and we catch up on what we missed the last few weeks. We also introduce a new segment, Florida Man vs Arizona Man.

First, we check in with Erik and see how his move to Florida is going and discuss when we'll see his return back to league racing. As a result of Erik being in Florida and D.J. in Arizona, we introduce our new segment "Florida Man vs Arizona Man". In this week's story Erik talks about a man posing as a flight attendant and getting free flights and D.J. talks about a serial fan interference offender at Diamondbacks games. This week's episode is kind of short because if you can't tell from the box behind him, Erik is moving from Michigan to Florida! He goes over what brought that up. We're also taking next week off since D.J. will be out of town and Erik is moving so its our "Summer Break".

The bulk of the show today is dedicated to looking over the 2026 Formula 1 schedule and the big item of note is Monaco is moved to mid-June and F1 will be taking on last part of the Indianapolis 500 directly in television ratings. With Indy 500 TV ratings on the rise again and still considered a mega event in the United States is this move smart? Is it just arrogance thinking they can take on the US's largest motorsports event in TV ratings?

On the second half of the show, we recap NASCAR at Michigan, the excessive use of the John Fogerty guitar riff every time they come back from commercial, and the storylines coming up as NASCAR heads to Mexico for the first time in many years, IndyCar heads to Gateway, F1 heads to Canada, and we have the Le Mans 24 hour race all in one weekend! Oh and because of traveling and moving Erik and D.J. won't have time to watch any of those!

"Two Idiots Talking Racing... and Stuff" sounds like a fitting tagline for this show, isn't it? Today on F-R Racing's Garage Talk we officially adopt that as the tagline for the show. What started as a quick and serious show evolved into what you see and listen to on a weekly basis so we felt it was time to start updating the branding to match the show.

On this week's episode of F-R Racing's Garage Talk, we give a brief mention to the F1 Monaco "race", because that's all it deserves, one of the weirder Indy 500's we've ever seen, and the first NASCAR race on Amazon Prime Video.First up, we talk about the F1 Monaco Grand Prix and as expected it was a parade with no on track passing, and the required two pit stop strategy didn't work out.

Next, and the bulk of the show we talk about the Indianapolis 500 from the pre-race helicopter flyover, Scott McLaughin's pace lap crash warming his tires, numerous incidents on pit road, timing and scoring issues at the track, and the botched coverage of the finish.

As you know, we record on Wednesday evening after Wednesday Night Dash (on ⁨@Stadiumscene⁩ ) and this week has been an absolute struggle. You've noticed the broadcast did not happen live as scheduled Tuesday night and we ran into some scoring problems (maybe) at the end of Wednesday Night Dash. We get into those struggles on today's Garage Talk.

Next, we've talked about Magic: The Gathering some on the show and D.J.'s 7 year old kid approached him asking about the cards on his desk and wanting to learn how to play. He ended up telling her that she needs to be a little older, but when is it ok to introduce that to your kids? D.J. thinks about age 10-12. What do you think?

Finally we close out this shorter than usual show with a recap of the weekend in racing, first with IndyCar at Barber, F1 at Miami, and NASCAR at Texas. We go over Erik's reaction to the finish including Michael McDowell's questionable blocking, and ultimately it being a Joey Logano win.
