Today we'll look at a super fun expression poser un lapin, which means "to stand somebody up in French". The verb poser means to put or to place and the masculine noun lapin means "rabbit". In the late 19th century poser un lapin meant to leave without paying. However, over time it came to mean to stand somebody up or to miss an appointment.
