    Boris Herrmann, hauptberuflicher Segelsportler, Vendée-Globe-Teilnehmer und so etwas wie ein Klimabotschafter auf See, sieht die Schifffahrtsindustrie in einer »faszinierenden Situation«. Es gebe »irre viel Potenzial« für Klimaschutz und es seien wichtige Entscheidungen in Bezug auf neue Schiffe und Antriebe zu fällen. Herrmann zeigt Verständnis für die ökonomischen Zwänge, mit denen sich Reeder konfrontiert sehen. Gleichzeitig könnte die Dynamik zum Klimaschutz in der Branche noch stärker sein, findet er. »Dieser neugierige Ingenieursblick und das Entrepreneurhafte, was wir in der Segelrennindustrie haben, wo wir ständig versuchen, das Unmögliche zuerreichen, das fehlt mir ein bisschen an mancher Stelle, sagt er. Herrmann spricht außerdem über seine Verbindungen in die Schifffahrt – etwa zu Kühne+Nagel und zur Familie Scheder-Bieschin – seine Motivation und wie er zum Segeln und seinem Engagement als Klimabotschafter gekommen ist. Er erläutert, was sich die Handelsschifffahrt von seiner Branche unter Umständen abschauen könnte und warum sein neues Rennboot »Malizia Seaexplorer« nicht in Deutschland, sondern in Frankreich gebaut wurde.
