À propos de cet audio

Welcome to Heavy Mental Breakdown — the unfiltered podcast where mental health meets mosh pits. Hosted by Verity and Harley, two alternative souls navigating life, music, and madness, we dive deep into the real stuff: raw conversations about anxiety, depression, ADHD, identity, and healing — all wrapped in a black fishnet bow.

Each week, we explore the highs and hells of mental health, spill stories from the alternative scene, and share the soundtracks that got us through it all. Whether you’re emo, goth, punk, or just mentally exhausted, this is your safe space to feel seen, heard, and a little less alone.

Expect brutal honesty, heavy riffs, dark humour, and guest chats with creatives, musicians, and misfits who aren’t afraid to break down the breakdown.

New episodes every week. It’s not just a phase — it’s a podcast. 🖤

In this raw and real episode, V opens up about her decision to come off sertraline after years of use — the why, the how, and the rollercoaster in between.

We dive into the world of mental health medication: the good, the bad, and the misunderstood. From the stigma around taking antidepressants to the chaos of withdrawal symptoms, we’re unpacking it all. Whether you’re medicated, considering it, or just curious, this one’s for anyone navigating the messy middle of mental health.

As always take care whilst listening as some topics may be triggering.

Got something to get off your chest? Drop us a text!

This podcast contains talk which might be triggering to some we discuss childhood sa and also self harm, so please do take care when listening.

This week we talk about past versions of ourselves. Things that we've done in the past when we were unmedicated/ undiagnosed or basically just learning how to be a decent human being.

With most things we learn by making mistakes but must important taking accountability for those mistakes and forgiving ourselves for decisions we've made when in survival mode.

We discuss how people can cling on to past versions of you and we don't always get the reactions we think we're going to get when we start to thrive. Some people don't always have your best interests at heart when you thought they would.

Basically the episode is us sharing, telling you to take accountability but most of all forgive yourself for past actions and to stand up for yourself when others treat you badly. Just because you've been a bit of a nob in the past doesn't give people the right to hold you back now.

As always, feel free to drop us a comment/ message if there something you'd like to discuss.
