À propos de cet audio

In this message we move from the grand assurance of Romans 8 into the hard but glorious truths of Romans 9. Paul raises the question: Hath God cast away His people, the Jews? He shows us through Scripture that not all Israel is Israel, that God has always made distinctions — between Ishmael and Isaac, between Esau and Jacob — according to His purpose and election. We see the sovereignty of God in showing mercy to whom He will show mercy, and hardening whom He will. We wrestle with the reality that salvation is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that showeth mercy. And yet, in the midst of that, Paul reminds us that the Gentiles also are called, that a remnant of Israel shall be saved, and that Christ is the stumbling stone for some but the Rock of salvation for all who believe. This is not easy Scripture, but it is good Scripture. It humbles us, it magnifies the sovereignty of God, and it anchors us in the unshakable truth that His word has not failed #PrimitiveBaptist #ElderJonathanMoseley #VerseByVerse#FairHavenPBC#exegesise#expositoryteaching#Romans
