À propos de cet audio

July 13, 2025 ~ Corewell Health Children's Hospital nurse Lisa Muma talks about the Nightingale Tribute program, which honors nurses at their funerals. During a 5-minute ceremony, the Nightingale Tribute is recited, then a rose is placed on the urn or casket to symbolize the nurse’s dedication to the profession. Following this, the nurse’s name is called three times, and a triangle is rung after each call of the name. A lit Nightingale lamp is carried up at the beginning of the ceremony and is then extinguished and presented to the family. Corewell Health's No One Dies Alone program provides end-of-life support. Kevin Hickey, manager of spiritual care, says NODA is a volunteer program that provides a reassuring presence to dying patients who would otherwise be alone in their expected final days.
