For two full days social media was awash with pictures of thousands of Nottingham Forest fans en route to Seville, congregating in their hundreds in the watering holes of the beautiful Spanish city, dancing, laughing, singing and getting ready for the clubs biggest night in 30 years. The party was in full swing and some might be forgiven for forgetting that the small matter of the actual 90 minutes of football still needed to navigated through by both players and fans alike. Would the wave of adrenaline spill onto the pitch and see the men in Red perform to the best of their ability or might the occasion be just a bit too much for this fledgling Postecoglou team… well in the end we got a bit of both with a thrilling, entertaining and dramatic first half followed by a second that saw Real Betis take more control and Forest fail to put the game to bed with the game ending 2-2. The takeaway is surely that it’s a huge away point gained thanks in no small part to our new Brazilian striker Igor Jesus….
