Has anyone heard of Post-Eurovision Relief?

On a regular year, the period immediately after the Grand Final is filled with a weird sense of grief, instant melancholia, for what fills our lives with most happiness is once again a year away. However, in 2024, when every second of the ESC-week was a constant stream of breaking news, backstage drama, and randomness beyond belief, one is kind of happy that there’s finally some room to breathe.

This episode attempts to break down some of what went on on both sides of the stage: the performances we’ll try to remember despite the bitterness, and the decisions that behind closed doors muddened the memory of what would have otherwise been an incredible edition.

This week a new edition of our favourite contest will take us all for another emotional rollercoaster, but before all is said and done, we wanted to look back at all other previous years in which Sweden got to play the hosting game. Let’s dive into all those artists that have won big, lost hard, sung in home turf, and pulled our heart strings in a nostalgia-filled episode featuring hits from 1975 through 2016 - we’re closing the 2024 season in absolute style!

Is it not the ultimate irony for us to give over 40 minutes of our time to an episode dedicated to songs we allegedly don't have time for? We keep challenging the status quo.

In all honesty, right as the Eurovision rehearsal week kicks off, we decided it was the best of occasions to cleanse our palates, brains, and bad vibes in order to put our best foot forward and get rid of all judgement. In this episode we go over some of the Eurovision tunes that we cannot seem to enjoy, and we try to discover if they’re just plain bad and Europe agreed, or if perhaps we’re simply not the audience.

To top it all off, the test of all tests - put your ESC knowledge on the line, because this time you’ll get to play a Double Common Linnet. Can you imagine five songs in the history of the contest that have not one, but two things in common?
