À propos de cet audio

IN October 1967, 26-year-old Mary Sievier set off to ride to India on a 175cc BSA Bantam motorbike. She reached India and then kept going. She rode around the world, taking nine years, making her the first British woman to make the journey alone.

In 2021 she sat down with a film-maker and told her story and these eight episodes make up the uncut audio recording from that film. Mary Sievier, in her own words. You can see the film here: https://vimeo.com/860157884

TAKING the advice of her partner, David, Mary leaves him behind in Hong Kong and follows her bike to America. She rides it across the USA to Georgia and then puts it on a ship to Felixstowe.

Mary's story remained largely unknown to the public until 2021 when she was invited to appear at The OVERLAND Event, a festival for adventure motorcyclists. Later that same year she met with film-maker Martyn Moore who recorded her telling her story. You can see a very short version of the film here: https://vimeo.com/860157884
