À propos de cet audio

If a Podcast is recorded in a Tearoom and no one is there to hear it, does it even exist? This is the question pondered by North Mancunians (Film & Theatre Writer-Director/Community Organiser) Paddy Nicholls and (Multi-disciplinary Artist/Owner of Annie’s Tearoom) Lou Beckett.

Left with a podcast shaped hole in their lives, new ideas began to be dreamt up and now *DRUM ROLL* from the ashes of ‘Have I Got News For Lou’ rises ‘Never Mind The Baldness’: a random selection of bizarre features conjured up by the two to help stave off the boredom as they dwindle a couple of hours away catching-up as they do…As well as the usual, enjoy parts of the show such as ‘When In Rome’ and ‘Guantanamo Bay Beats’ (Desert Island Discs, but less pleasant) – what more could you ask for? (apart from…A LOT MORE…)

Each episode will launch every fortnight on Tuesday evenings and the features on the show will be subject to a Poll on Social Media, which will then be voted on by YOU each week to see what they end up going on about for that particular episode!

    EDITORIAL CORRECTIONS AND NOTES:

    • The Balkan brandy-type drink we refer to is pronounced “rah-kee-yah” (rakija) not “raki”, which is the Turkish spirit. Apologies to all our Balkan friends.
    • We don’t have any Balkan friends.
    • William S. Burroughs didn’t go to Mexico because of trouble with drugs and “obscenity” charges – Paddy had forgotten that it was because he’d actually shot his wife in the head at their own house party and killed her, so he left America…He should’ve remembered that…
    • 400 Arab Emirates Dirham is about £80…
    • Basketball isn’t “just like Netball” (despite what Lou says).
    • No Serbs or flies were harmed in the making of this episode.

  • The Boys Are Back In (Guantanamo) Town
    Aug 19 2025

The lads reintroduce themselves to the World after the issues with the 'Have I Got News For Lou' podcast with a brand new one and give the new format a go, despite Lou’s reservations about how well the features Paddy has come up with actually work. Expect stories about flashers outside of the Pub, Saddam Hussein and a less than successful trip to Tokyo…
