  • Which Is Better – Ghee or Coconut Oil?
    Oct 5 2025

Clients and Primal Diet – Modern Health Podcast listeners often ask me: "Which is better – Ghee or Coconut Oil?"

Here's a description and info on the benefits of each.

Both Ghee and Coconut Oil are saturated fats. Despite what we have been told, saturated fats are healthier than seed oils for us hunter-gatherer humans. Canola, Corn and Soy "vegetable" oil are high in Omega 6 fats – the one we want to avoid.

These saturated fats cook better than seed oils and taste wonderful.

The taste choice is up to you and the food you put it on. Or use both liberally as many do, depending on what you are cooking.

  • Supplements for Memory and Alzheimer's

Choline and Lithium are the key - but they must be in the correct FORM of the vitamin (Choline) and the mineral (Lithium). Orotate may be the most absorbable, correct form of Lithium. Bitartrate is the best form for Choline. I carry both in my Online Store, separately and together.

This article from NeuroScience News speaks to Choline and Memory studies.

  • 5 Rules for Gluten-Safe Kissing
    Mar 3 2025

Gluten-safe kissing is important to talk about. If you're sensitive to gluten, what happens when a kissable partner has eaten pizza or had a beer lately? How careful do we need to be?

Can we get "glutened" from kissing?

Several studies show that proteins from foods can linger in the mouth several hours after consumption. Some mouths clear them faster than others.

    Rules for Gluten-Safe Kissing
    1. Check your own make-up, lipstick, chapstick, lotions, soaps and shampoos.
    2. Check your partner's bathroom as well.
    3. Kisses on the cheek are fine, as long as no saliva or obvious crumbs travel along.
    4. Kissing kids on the mouth or gooey fingers can dose you with gluten if they just ate a PB&J or cookie.
    5. The general consensus is that your partner should avoid gluten foods such as bread, pizza, beer, etc. on date night for at least an hour before kissing.
