 The Red Sox (78-62) made it 3 straight wins with an 11-7 victory over the Cleveland Guardians in front of a crowd of 34,901 at Fenway Park Tuesday night. The Sox scored 4 runs, all with 2 outs, in the Bottom of the 8th Inning to go in front for good. It's the Sox 34th comeback win of the season. With the win, the Red Sox clinched the series vs. the Guardians and are now a season-high 16 games over .500.-----Sox at the Dish: After the Guardians scored a run in the Top of the 2nd Inning, the Red Sox responded with 4 runs in the Bottom of the 2nd and had 6 straight hitters reaching with hits. Ceddanne Rafaela broke a 1-1 tie with a 2-run Single. Roman Anthony capped the 4-run inning with an RBI Single. Nathaniel Lowe made it 5-1 with a 2-out, solo HR in the Bottom of the 3rd. It's Lowe's 18th of the season overall and 2nd with the Red Sox. After the Guardians scored 6 runs in the Top of the 6th, Ceddanne Rafaela tied the game at 7-7 with a 2-run Home Run. It was his 16th on the season and 2nd since the All-Star Break. Alex Bregman broke the 7-7 with a 2-out infield Single in the 8th that scored Rafaela from 3rd. Jarren Duran added on with an RBI 2B and then Trevor Story knocked in Bregman and Duran with a Double. Story now has 88 RBIs on the season. -----Crochet Day: Garrett Crochet tied a career-high by allowing 4 Home Runs including 3 in the Guardians 6-run 6th Inning Tuesday night. He went 6.0 Innings and allowed 7 runs (7 ER) on 9 Hits. Crochet walked no one, struck out 4 and ended up with a No-Decision. Crochet threw 36 total pitches from the 2nd Inning thru the 5th Inning. Crochet has now allowed 20 Home Runs on the season and 15 (2 Tuesday night) have come with no one on base. -----#'s of the Day:--The Red Sox have homered in 9 straight games and have hit (14) over that current stretch. --With Tuesday's win, the Red Sox are now 4-1 vs. the Guardians this season and have scored 37 runs in the 4 victories. --Trevor Story made it 25-for-25 in stolen base attempts when he stole 2nd in the 7th Inning. -----What's On Tap?: The Guardians and Red Sox conclude their regular season series Wednesday night at Fenway. LHP Logan Allen is slated to start for the Guardians. The Sox are TBA, but it's expected that Kyle Harrison will be up from Triple-A Worcester to make his Boston debut. Alex Cora also announced prior to Tuesday's game that Dustin May will be available out of the bullpen for the rest of the week.
