In recent years, new formats like YouTube Shorts and livestreamed podcasts have expanded their reach. Black content creators have experimented with these formats, catering to niche audiences and showcasing a broader spectrum of Blackness. For example, Sofi (known as The Oddity) shares her life through daily vlogs, resonating with Black women who appreciate authenticity and the journey of figuring things out. Additionally, YouTube is recognizing Black creators through documentary shorts called “Flowers”
