À propos de cet audio
Dr. George Maurer joins us today, bringing more than three decades of journalism experience and a fascinating background as a retired Air Force master sergeant. He shares stories from the frontlines of the Pentagon Press Briefing Room, where he rubbed elbows with high-profile personalities like Sammy Hagar and Pat Benatar, and covered monumental events such as Super Bowl XLII. But it’s not all about star interviews and glitzy events; we dive deep into a pressing issue that’s infiltrating the American education system: Critical Race Theory (CRT). Dr. Maurer passionately argues that CRT has been surreptitiously woven into educational curricula, often without parents’ awareness. He sheds light on how educators deny its presence while supporting its ideologies behind closed doors. There’s a sense of urgency in his voice as he recounts how CRT can create unnecessary divisions among children, leading to confusion and hostility that they aren’t equipped to handle. We explore how parents can take action and engage with their children’s education, from scrutinizing school materials to attending school board meetings. This episode is a call to arms for parents to reclaim their role in their kids’ education and to ensure that schools are places of unity rather than division.
Dr. Maurer is an award-winning broadcast journalist with more than 35 years of experience. He’s a retired Air Force Master Sergeant who deployed to Iraq during the Global War on Terrorism. He also served overseas in Japan, Korea, and the Portuguese Azores. For his final assignment, he served in the Pentagon Press Briefing Room alongside all major news organizations. He’s interviewed high profile guests such as Sammy Hagar, Pat Benatar, Dan Ackroyd, Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley, and many more. He’s covered major events such as Super Bowl XLII and two Major League Baseball All-Star games. He also interviewed top Defense officials such as Secretary of Defense Robert Gates and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Michael Mullen.
