À propos de cet audio
Scotty McCreery joins Rob + Holly this week on the 'Friday Night Takeover' to talk about his song "Bottle Rockets," the stories behind a few of his hits, and how his wife reacts to his music the first time she hears it
The Carolina connection is strong on Scotty McCreery's new single, "Bottle Rockets," featuring a classic in its own right from Hootie & The Blowfish.
"The rest of the guys recorded their stuff before we'd even tracked the song in the studio," reveals Scotty. "They were like, 'we're already here in Charleston at the studio. Can we just do it?' And we're like, 'Well, here's the beat and here's the key, so knock it out.' So, it worked out and then Darius was in town from London, so it all came together nicely."
"I've been such a fan for a long time, but me and D have become really good friends over the years, and golf buddies, and fantasy football, all the whole nine yards," McCreery shares about his friendship with Darius Rucker. "We wrote the song in the mountains of Carolina on a little retreat, just kind of reminiscent on old summers and the soundtracks of those summers and everybody loved Hootie, but in the Carolinas, they were like even more, you know, big time."
After riffing on the song and "Hold My Hand," McCreery says it "felt like it flowed right into it." They reached out to their Blowfish friends and "they were all about it."
