The Occult and Witchcraft have been embedded in our culture and history for hundreds of years, and the people who have practiced it over time have often brought unwanted attention to themselves.

You only have to do a brief internet search for Matthew Hopkins to begin to understand the persecution that these people suffered. Hopkins was known as the Witch Finder General in the 1640's, but he was only one of many people who were 'employed' to hunt down and kill witches.

Thankfully, with our more modern outlook and understanding of the occult and witchcraft, it's not always necessarily seen as a practice of evil intent.
