  • 95. Have Arsenal acted poorly with their handling of the Thomas Partey situation?
    Jul 14 2025

This week's episode starts with the recent news that Thomas Partey has been charged with five counts of rape and one count of sexual assault in separate incidents between 2021 and 2022. Specifically, we ask whether Arsenal should have continued to play Partey over the last few seasons, and whether the club deserves criticism for their handling of the player and the situation.

We then move to on-field matters, starting with the reaction to Jurgen Klopp's criticism of the Club World Cup, before turning to Brentford's appointment of Keith Andrews.

The second half of this episode focuses on transfer developments, including the five first-team players who have been shown the exit door at Manchester United, Chelsea's purchase of Joao Pedro, and Kyle Walker's and Mohammed Kudus' moves to Burnley and Tottenham, respectively.

Finally, we turn our attention to England, questioning the senior men's side's recent performances against Andorra and Senegal, before (deservedly) praising the U21s for their triumph at the European Championship in Slovakia.

This episode of the TCF Sport podcast begins with Daniel Levy's decision to sack Ange Postecoglou, including a discussion of whether it was the correct call, and if Thomas Frank is the right man to replace the Australian. We include focus on the Europa League Final in the same conversation, covering Manchester United and their pursuit of Bryan Mbeumo, too.

From there, attention stays on the Europa League, specifically the delay in UEFA's ruling on whether Crystal Palace will be able to play in the competition next season. We then turn our heads to the Premier League, giving out our individual awards for the 2024/25 campaign.

  • 93. Crystal Palace win the FA Cup and Europa League Final Preview... | Season 24/25, Episode 20

FOOTBALL IS HEALING!!! Crystal Palace's win against Manchester City in the FA Cup final on Saturday was absolutely brilliant for all involved with the Eagles. To give Oliver Glasner's side sufficient credit, we spend the first part of this episode talking exclusively about Palace's performance, before moving on to dissect whether Manchester City are in need of a significant rebuild at the Etihad over the summer.

We then turn our attention to the Europa League final between Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur. As two Arsenal fans, we ask if the winners of Wednesday's final will have had a better season than Mikel Arteta's side. We also analyse who the final is more important for, who we think will win, and whether the winners should qualify for next season's Champions League.

Discussion about the Champions League semi-finals follows as we give our opinions on whether Arteta is under pressure to start winning silverware and if there is a deeper cultural problem at the Emirates that has caused Arsenal to become nearly men. We also cover the brilliant Barcelona-Inter Milan tie, asking if it's the greatest Champions League semi-final ever played.

The final part of the episode returns to league matters in all four of England's professional divisions. We discuss Evangelos Marinakis' very public display of dissatisfaction at Nottingham Forest following their draw against Leicester, some Liverpool fans' booing of Trent Alexander-Arnold, and our favourite Goodison Park memories. We round out the episode by discussing the upcoming play-off finals in the Championship, League One and League Two.

As ever, we hope you enjoy! And if you do, please consider subscribing for more!

It's a European theme for the TCF Sport podcast this week as we look ahead to the UEFA Champions League semi-finals! Arsenal welcome PSG to the Emirates on Tuesday, while Inter Milan travel to Barcelona on Wednesday in arguably the most evenly matched semi-final match-ups in years... Who will come out on top in both ties? We discuss that, as well as Arsenal's chances in detail, for the first section of this episode.

We then do the same for the Europa League, giving our views on Tottenham and Manchester United's chances in that competition, as well as dissecting Manchester United's bonkers win against Lyon last time out.

The second half of the episode returns to domestic matters in England, covering Jamie Vardy's best antics at Leicester, Unai Emery's striker dilemma, Wolves' incredible form under Vitor Pereira, and Crystal Palace's superb win in the FA Cup semi-final.

  • 91. Who is City's GOAT and is time running out for Postecoglou? | TCF Sport Podcast | Season 2024/25, E18
    Apr 11 2025

    Send us a text

Welcome back to the TCF Sport podcast! Following the news that Kevin De Bruyne will be leaving Manchester City at the end of the season, this episode starts with an exploration into who City's GOAT is: De Bruyne, David Silva, Vincent Kompany, Richard Dunne, or other?

The biggest focus of the podcast is Ange Postecoglou. After the Australian cupped his ear to Tottenham fans jeering his decisions against Chelsea, we ask when his relationship with the Spurs faithful broke down. With Tottenham linked with several other Premier League managers, we also question how long Postecoglou has left at the club, but also if those managers that are linked would be better staying put at their current teams.

The second half of the episode covers Chelsea and Jadon Sancho, Manchester United's new stadium concept, Trent Alexander-Arnold's impending departure to Real Madrid, Graham Potter's underwhelming start at West Ham, and the contract issues Andrea Berta has inherited as Arsenal's Sporting Director. There's also focus on Newcastle's Carabao Cup celebrations, the final four in the FA Cup, and the BBC Chairman's recent comments that Match of the Day should be more analysis, less highlights...

  • 89. The most boring Premier League season ever? | Season 24/25, Episode 16
    Mar 4 2025

    Send us a text

Welcome back to another episode of the TCF Sport podcast!

With both ends of the table seemingly wrapped up at the end of February, this week starts with the question of: is this one of the most boring Premier League seasons of all time? And while our opinions are negative, we do point to some of the bright spots of this campaign, giving praise where it's due to the clubs who have over performed.

Over the course of this discussion, we also ask if Liverpool being top of the league by 13 points is due to their excellence, because the teams below them have been poor, or somewhere in-between. We then cover Arsenal's goalscoring and transfer issues in detail, before giving our predictions for who we think will finish in the Champions League places this season.

The second half of the episode turns to teams further down the league, starting with Leicester's dismal run of form under Ruud van Nistelrooy, before we look ahead to the return of the Champions League, giving our views for who we think will make the final at the end of May. After the fun we had naming our favourite strikers from Barclays era of the Premier League, we then finish by naming some of the Barclaysmen to have played at Bolton Wanderers!
